Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

As if I could just as easily get out of the house and run into one of you.
Don't tease me like that!!

Aims, glad the first session went well. I should try that opposite thing. Lord knows my armchair gets plenty of workout, and the chores pile up. If only opposite thoughts worked on muscles... "you have tired muscles, nope, they are opposite, now get up and tidy the place". That's the big culprit for me, that gets me sitting in the first place. Once down. I'm out for the count. That whole "body at rest tends to stay at rest..." thing, I suppose.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ginger, there's a semi should be backing up to your driveway with a whole trailer full of it's-nothing-ma. More if you run out, let me know.

Aims, I'm glad it went well. And yes, what's it about the tiny feet?

ChiKat, I've been thinking of you. My sympathies.

sj, I've been so overjoyed about your house, and terribly horribly full of glee at your agent's reply to the first-house-people. Nyah! It's so odd, when you posted pictures of the interior of the first place, I really wanted to grab my kit and race up to redo those rooms for you. Not necessarily in your style, I realized later, just to blot out evidence of those owners. Pictures of the new place? Look like they feel wonderful inside.

Shir. All of Israel. The apartheid system has become so integral to the way Israel works that it is really hard to separate out from the rest of Israeli society. Very few Israeli products here that don't include components or ingredients from occupied territory in any case.

Just to reassure you, does not mean cutting off contacts with Israelis or refusing to allow Israelis scholars access to libaries or internship programs. It does mean not funding Israeli institutions, or in most cases not doing institution to institution joint projects - the same thing in meant in the case of South Africa, when many teams would not play against even integrated SA soccer teams as long as the society remained legally segregated.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Ginger, I hope it's nothing.

It's all a mess. DH didn't have a will, and I'm paralyzed by the entire probate process. It just makes me want to cry.

Amy - Feb 23, 2012 11:40:13 am PST #8288 of 30001
Because books.

Oh, Maria. That's so hard. Anything we can do?

Aims, I went to therapy today, too, and cried for the first time (with this therapist). Which is progress, I guess. I'm glad you like yours.

Ginger, all fingers crossed for nothing.

Compassionately intolerant

Oh Maria. How hard. I'm so sorry. That process can be so daunting. I know you have plenty of support and I would not presume to intrude, but I've got pretty big ears and am a champ at sitting with anger and such. Please know I am here...especially when it seems like all other options are exhausted.

Oddly enough, it was Bartleby who inspired me to update my will last year when I was sick. I have nothing to distribute, but I wanted to make sure he was taken care of...guess that means I need to redo it now.

We really did. She has very tiny feet and she gave me homework and made me call the psychiatrist in her office to make an appointment to get meds. And she said that if I can't be the nurturing one to myself right now, to call her when I need that and she would be that for me. But only when I can't do it myself.

Aimee, your new therapist sounds great. I'm so glad you found her. (weirdly, people comment on my small feet all the time...I guess it comes from a lot of looking down when searching for something to say...)

Ginger, may every good wish others have offered be granted you tenfold. Nothing-ness is preferred and expected!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Very few Israeli products here that don't include components or ingredients from occupied territory in any case.

Case is very different here, obviously.

Thanks. And yeah, I know. It's just not something I'm all comfortable with. I understand the reasoning, I support most of the reasons for doing so (though I think calling it an apartheid only gives Israelis easy life about it - in the way where apartheid is a facet of the issue - a big red one, sure, but a facet, thus avoiding think things through systematically and not just with big red sheets). Also, and it's just an emotional reason, but it is home. Trying to find alternative ways that will allow me to share it with others and working to fix it in the same time is two sides of the same coin for me.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, {{Maria}}. Sorry, I was writing my previous post for a long time since I'm very tired at this point.

I'm sorry. If there's anything we can do, please say so.

And also, {bonny}.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

{{{Maria}}} I am still dragging my feet on probate because it is just that hard. But I can assure you that no one comes and raps your knuckles for not jumping on it right away.

If you can get someone else to take care of any of it for you (any of us, people at the funeral home, a family lawyer) go ahead and let them. There's no virtue in doing everything yourself.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh Maria, my poor lady. I'm so sorry you're feeling overwhelmed. Is there anyone who can help you, or at least keep you company while you're working on this stuff?

Aims, I'm very glad your first visit was good! And huh, I should try that opposite thing.

As soon as I finish lunch and coffee, I am going to start recording the radio shows, like I said I would. Plus it will distract me from constantly refreshing my email, looking for a message about when the HR munchkin has scheduled my interview loop.
