We're going to the vet on Friday. I'm actually going out of town for the weekend and I'm boarding him there. Maybe that's a good thing. They'll be able to observe him pretty closely for three days.
The vet should be able to give you ways to see even hidden pain. And it's hard. But you are a good cat owner and will make the difficult, unselfish choices, I know.

If I could take that vision out of your brain and just have it for you for a while so you could close your eyes and get some peaceful rest, I would do it. I'd give it back, because it is your life and your memory; I'd just borrow it for a while so you could have a few hours of gentle quiet.
