You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Problem is a lot of the incandescents are not standard. Tiny fancy ones for chandliers. Or big spotlight thingies. I don't even know what they were for.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Thanks, my Beverly. That's nice.

I am SO tired I can't sit up straight, just waiting for toilet time for Aidan (I could swear that was an Ernie book). The concert went well, except that Aidan was autistic, and when he made his funky noises, some of the kids around Kara also made the noises, and she felt they were mocking him and got sad. And then, at the end, all the 5th graders are coming off the stage, and I'm watching, and I'm watching, and of course, she's the last one off, and at least 25 feet behind. Still, they played recognizable music, which was not what I was led to expect from the note home asking for parental support at the concert.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Yeah PC does tons of cool stuff. But "learn new things" I meant more like, learn new behaviors or ways of how you interact with the world.

Ooops. Didn't get that. I read "learn new things" as "get a hobby"-type stuff.

Java, I hear you on the recruiting, but sadly I only get recruited to do what I do now, and I dont really want that. Though I found out today one of my favorite people at the company is leaving, so I may look up where she goes...

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Problem is a lot of the incandescents are not standard. Tiny fancy ones for chandliers. Or big spotlight thingies. I don't even know what they were for.

They might be floods for ceiling fixtures. I could use both, if so; I'm sure I'm not the only one with those annoying ceiling spotlights. You could FreeCycle them.

Our wings are not tired.

Thank you for all the comforting support. I copied and pasted a bunch of comments and sent them to DH. It is harder on him than me in many ways. I was a wild teen and turned responsible while DH had irresponsible parents and had to man up at an early age. He really blames himself and believes he did something wrong while I honestly believe my boys hit the dad lotto.

Good to hear you liked the new psychiatrist askye.

What do you want to do instead, meara?

Our wings are not tired.

So my posting window was open abou a half hour so I missed the Kara concert update. Woo! Recognizable music even. School shows are fun times for sure.

Thrive to spite them

I probably wasn't as clear as I could be Steph.

I'm in a sort of Therapy Loves Carrots kinda mood right now.

Plus when P-C said Because I don't ask girls out? and Because my default assumption is that women don't like me and I am bothering them?

It kinda hit me, because I'm realizing that my self images and personal assumptions are out of date. I've changed and made some positive changes and I just need to catch up with that.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Deena, it was so good to hear that Nick is doing so well. Also, Deena!

I know you both have to be terribly frustrated, Laura. I would be Brendon, because I have been the responsible one most of my life.

I hate compact flourescents!

Have you tried the newer ones in warm white? Warm white is very close to incandescent light, and the new bulbs are close to instant on.

I only have two incandescent bulbs left, because they're on a dimmer switch. Dimmable CFLs are pricy and don't work very well. I'm waiting for LEDs to come down in price. CFLs are a transitional technology, but incandescent bulbs are such a waste of energy. There's also a daylight CFL which is quite close to real daylight, but it turns out that most people don't really like the way they look in daylight.
