Oh, so I started the squats thing. I did the 50 on Wednesday. And then 55 on Thursday. And then none yesterday because I was asleep all day (migraine) and then at a party. But today I worked out with my trainer and he made me do 100, so I figure I'm still on track.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yesterday I got snagged from working at my favorite, easy house, to work at my toughest house. And then the person who was suppsed to relieve me at 2pm called in. (I believe that's a case of "I asked for that day off months ago, now you tell me I can't have it off because we are short-handed, well guess what, I'm not coming in anyway, you decide whether you want to fire me and fill the rest of my hours as well as the five other people who've quit or been fired in the last two weeks." and I just hope it takes that person out of the running for house manager.) So I got to stay until 9pm.
I'm so exhausted now that I accidentally dumped my hot cocoa mix into the mug I'd put mug cake mix in, instead of into the mug the hot water was in. Turns out, the added milk and chocolate flavoriting makes the mug cake even nicer.
I'm going back to bed.
I hope they don't ask me to work on Monday. I won't be able to say yes.
I hope you got some nice rest, Andi.
It was great seeing Java, Sparky and family today. They've built a great community...very enjoyable to be around.
Something charming from my evening walk with Cagney...A mom walking beside her roughly 4 year old son, as he pushed along his pre-bike.
She sang, in a quiet voice, "Don't worry about a thing..." and he dueted, singing to the opera house, "Cuz EVERY LITTLE THING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT!!" Mommy! Sing it again.
Very sweet.
Then we got jumped by an orange tabby cat. Seriously, it slipped between a fence about 10 feet in front of us, so I figured we were okay. Cagney hadn't seen the cat, but he behaved a little spooked...he's an wuss.
After we passed the cat's house, I just happened to look behind me to see the little blighter _charging_ us from behind! It almost got ugly.
What is the point of that cat?

You walked past its part of the universe and did not show due deference. That's all some cats need.
You walked past its part of the universe and did not show due deference.
I honestly believe this is case.
Sheesh, Cat. We wander in peace. Swearz.
For those who aren't on FB, I wanted to share a happy thing. As I mentioned yesterday, this morning was my first race day. I only started training seriously about 5-6 weeks ago, and I've made steady progress over that time. Well today I exceeded my time (and expectations, frankly!). I finished the 5K with an average pace of 10:12, much faster than my previous time (10:55). I'm pretty stoked and decided to sign up with a local running group to train for the Pasadena half marathon (though I plan to only do the 10K at this point) on June 30th. So yay!
Yay Pix on the running!
But today I worked out with my trainer and he made me do 100, so I figure I'm still on track.
Yeah, I am not doing the squat challenge, but felt vindicated in my choice yesterday when my stretch teacher made me do like 40 minutes of squats/isometrics in the squat position. I figure if I'm doing that once a week, I'm good.
I made it through my 70 squats in one go. It was a strain, but I wonder if I'm not doing it right.
Does the FB chart give instructions on how to do the squats? I just assumed it did.
No , it doesn't . Here is what i know
do not let you knees go past your toes when squating -
how to do this. You weight is in your heels and in your butt. As you go down --look staight out - not down or up. This helps keep you back in a neutral position. ( not curved, but not stiff) Abs should be pulled in . No bounce. slow and control. I riase my arms to shoulder height as I go down.
If you walk a lot or stand a lot, 50 is not that hard. So I am guessing that why you can do 70, bonny. Even though I have done bigger sets. I find that after 30 - they get sloppy feeling . So I figure it makes sense to brake them into sets. The first set is always hard, but then again I am doing it about 10 - 15 minutes out of bed.
what has been interesting is that some days I feel them , some time s stiff , sometimes sore, but some days I don't feel them at all. no rhyme or reason that I can track
