Back at work. Just called my grandma, she's doing better. Heart looks all right. She's still got a cough, and they're trying to get her oxygen sat levels up a bit more before she goes home. My dad's going down there tomorrow, apparently. Thanks for the ~ma!!

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
smonster, I'm glad both you and your grandmother are doing better today.
I'm hurting today. I think I overdid it a little yesterday.
Bridesmaiddudepeople: we have to register this weekend or I will kill someone who will most likely be Tim. Our kitchen stuff is largely old and can stand to be replaced (other than the Kitchenaid mixer, which is god). I'm trying to think of what we might need and I'm afraid I'll forget something. So here is my half-assed list. If you have any suggestions or think I'm missing something huge, please tell me. I suck at this.
Pots and pans: (1) big deep sauté pan like this one: [link] (2) small skillet; (3) large skillet; (4) small pot; (5) medium pot; (6) large pot
Coffeemaker
Set of plates/bowls (but no coffee cups)
Toaster
Microwave
Large food processor
Cookie sheets
Napkin holder (seriously, the one we have is an Eldritch horror)
Measuring cups
French press (actually, all we need is the glass vessel, but it's easier to just get a new one)
Cooking dishes (large rectangular glass pan, square glass pan) with covers
And then there are some non-kitchen things, which include:
Camping air mattress
Comforter
Sheets
Towels
Blu-Ray player
I have a cousin getting married this summer, and her registry informed me there is both a hard cheese knife and a soft cheese knife. Things like this make me feel like a Beverly Hillbilly.
Anyway, does it look like I'm forgetting something? (Our wine glasses are fine, we have good flatware, don't want fine china, have 3 good glass pie plates, and we already have an awesome crockpot. Our bread loaf pans are fine and my muffin tins are my mom's and I don't want new ones. We have a fairly decent set of mixing bowls also. And I already have Silpats, which are also god. And I have a santoku knife that kicks ass. Also a nice large bamboo cutting board courtesy of my brother, as well as a smaller plastic one.)
Do you need a new vacuum cleaner?
Cooking tools? Spatula, spoons, etc? Miscellaneous items? Corkscrew, can opener, garlic press, meat tenderizer? Anything stupid you've never been able to justify buying?
Do you need a new vacuum cleaner?
I suggested that (especially since Tim rigged something up with duct tape to the front of the vacuum cleaner), but he was meh on it. Since he's the one who vacuums, I'm not going to push. Although I'll probably suggest it again.
Spatula, spoons, etc? Miscellaneous items? Corkscrew, can opener, garlic press, meat tenderizer?
We're basically okay on these -- our measuring cups are horrific, which is why they're on the list. I've tried to check everything and see if it's old/cracked/gnarly/nasty and needs replaced.

Do I need a Slap Chop? (What is a Slap Chop???)
Oh my god KITCHEN TORCH!!!

I would second going for some smaller items like this. IME, people like to get a smaller thing to go with a bigger item. You can also register for cookbooks if there are any you want, and maybe some pretty dishtowels.
Muffin tins? Loaf pan? Measuring spoons? One of those awesome stick blenders?
I caught all kinds of crap for not being registered for enough stuff.
Tep,
I have the rolling ball vacuum that I got at Target and it is just so fucking awesome. I know your husband would giggle like I did the first time I used it.
