Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

There definitely should be some kind of uterus/fertility exchange program, so those of us who don't need ours could send it to people who do.

I would have signed up for that a few years ago. Now I am just side-eyeing my uterus and trying to come to a truce. That doesn't involve me attacking it with a spoon.

But if you even maybe want kids, make the appointment and find out the chances now and with technological help. Even if you don't do it, having answers or starting places are good.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Ugh. Stopped to follow a friend home, was a little worried that she'd had a few glasses if wine. so glad I stopped, because her car got broken into, her wallet and work laptop were taken and she fell apart. Sitting in her apartment waiting for the police. I'm exhausted, but I don't want to leave her.

You are a good, good friend, Vortex.

Wow Vortex, that sucks. But you're a good friend.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

However, if I am done with my uterus, I would like it to stop causing me increasingly debilitating pain at increasingly frequent intervals.

Lord, tell me about it. Yesterday I had cramps so violent and, um, explosively technicolor that if I wasn't NGA I'd have sought medical attention. Look, uterus babe, I'm sorry your purpose is going unfulfilled... wasn't my call.

Meara, I'd say research your egg count and whatnot and see if you're a good candidate for laying out the cash to keep your options a little more open.

Good lookin' out, Vortex!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

meara, as a data point, I had my kids at 37 & 39, and my OB indicated that there wouldn't have been a problem if I had wanted to continue. But yeah, not sure there's a way to ideally anticipate what you might need in the future.

OK, I suppose going and getting the initial test done is a start, y'all have a point. (Though the reading was basically like "if it's a good result, that means you can make enough eggs to be worth freezing! If it's bad, it's too late, sucks!")

Better to at least know what the situation is than drive yourself crazy with what ifs.

I have not had a good night's sleep in two nights, and it is making me very hulk smash.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

have any of you had any problems being served regular Coke/Pepsi when you've asked for Diet?

I think this may be a persistent problem where I am. I periodically test my blood sugar, though it previously has been managed with diet, etc. But it has been off the charts and unpredictable in the most recent 3 months. Sometimes in a good range, sometimes not so much. The only thing that might be different is if I'm getting sugar in places I do not expect.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

My parents learned to ask for "Diet" rather than "Diet Coke" because half the time the server ended up hearing "Coke." And if they heard "Sprite," it's obvious before you take a drink.
