Lorne: Back in Pylea they used to call me "sweet potato." Connor: Really. Lorne: Yeah, well, the exact translation was "fragrant tuber" but…

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Epic! Get outta town. I had no idea we share these compulsionstalents!

Heh. We have to figure out how to collaborate on something some time. That would be so much fun...and pretty.

Or a blue elephant.

Dude, you're just setting yourself up for an unpleasant surprise in 3 1/2 years.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

You are evil and awesome in equal amounts. I cannot stop laughing at this.

:)

Happy Annivesary, Strixy! Hard to believe it wasn't just yesterday.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I think a lot of you remember that when I was about to turn 50, I decided to get rid of the plates Jason and I both HATED and ask for Fiestaware, which I had alwasy wanted. Then, we eloped three days before my birthday and announced it at my party, so all the Fiestaware got to be both a birthday and a wedding present.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Happy Anniversary, Strix and D!

I grew up with white plates, clear glass, everything blah. For a while I was all about florals, but then finally graduated to a set of multi-colored fiesta ware back in the 80s, of which I have only 5 of the mugs left. A couple years ago I asked for these: [link] for Christmas. Only 4 of everything to the set and one salad plate is already broken. Cracked right in half in the microwave, even though they were supposed to be microwave safe.

Hmmm, I know there's a university in the south that has a huge collection of vintage lead type. I wonder if they'd take some of it off your hands.

That's the Cushing Memorial Library at Texas A&M. One of my friends is the archivist for their SciFi collection there. The most recent show she's curating is one about GRRM: [link] She also has a deep love of Cushing's printing press collection. She's gone so far as to include printing presses in a number of her fanfics.
