Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

Well the Being Feminist FB group kind of exploded because one of the content creators (that's what he called himself) is against legalize same sex marriage at all. And he made ruffled more than a few feathers by calling it a fluffy thing. I'm kind of following with half an eye.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I did not dump my therapist today. I did share with her my frustrations about my reading something she assigns and then never getting around to discussing those things. She acknowledge my concerns and seemed to agree with me that they were concerns. I talked about a lot of difficult things today that I actually wanted to talk about, and she wants me to look into a book that I already own (but haven't read). So, I need to figure out where the boxes are with my psychology books.

not your mom's socks.

Done, Laura.

We are home. I am lobbying to spend the last day of spring break in PJs because omg so tired. I did not spend one red cent in the American Girl store. HPF? Did an admirable job of getting the most for her money.

Good for you! That stuff is spendy.

Mom is sick (she has the virus I had). So, we're not going to go to her place for Easter until at least tomorrow night. Of course, I planned my whole week to make sure there wouldn't be anything left in the fridge when we went away for the weekend. So, I guess we have no choice but to eat out tonight. Poor me.

Hive mind question: I've been trying to do a short yoga video and some weight bearing exercises daily. Is it better to do the yoga first and the weights second or vice versa?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I think I would do weights first, then yoga.

Thanks, Strix. That was my therapist's suggestion as well. I've been doing it wrong.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

sj, the general rule of thumb is to do any weight-training first, followed by cardio/mobility. You get a much bigger benefit that way. Sometimes, it's the opposite though, and that's OK. What I have figured out is, at the end of the day, it's just important to MOVE. Especially when starting out or back up again.

Thanks, Maria. I have been feeling better this week since I have been exercising regularly. I can't do a lot, which is frustrating. But I do what I can of the yoga video and I curse at the DVD when I can't do a move and wait for it to go on to the next thing. I'm doing a small amount of weight bearing exercises, and also trying to move more in general, even if that just means doing laundry more often. I was thinking of getting a fitbit, and when I looked at their website I saw they were coming out with a new model that you can wear on your wrist. So I signed up to be notified when that product becomes available.

Our wings are not tired.

I am the lone person in the office. I went to Costco this morning so I didn't get here until 1. We hadn't had a call since 10:30. Yay! So I sent the rest home.

Yesterday I decided to invite a bunch of relatives and close friends for Easter if they didn't have plans. They all said yes! Guess I am not the only last minute girl. So about 20 on Sunday. One aunt said her employer gave her a ham so she is bringing that. So yes, I went to Costco this morning. Crazy busy! Oh well, I have my recipes together, just deciding on a rum runner punch type thing. I bought mango nectar and pomegranate juice and I have rum. I think I might need pineapple juice. We'll see.
