Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yeah, i know I'm biased, but I also figure I'm ok working on the research side...I know I do my job as ethically as I can. I don't think I could be a sales rep or something.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh Cass, I'm just now home and logging back on. I'm sorry if I stopped all conversation - didn't mean to. But there's no way I can be unbiased so I don't know if it's fair for me to take part.

Don't be sorry. I wasn't forced to take my post down. I just wasn't interested in being involved in an exchange tonight that felt at all combative, so it was easy for me to delete.

I'm not unbiased either. And while I think there are a lot of good people involved, I think the industry is broken.

Any conversation we had was, at best, going to be coming at it from really different places. You made a good post. I just disagreed with some of it and explained why.

So maybe we'll have that conversation sometime or we won't. But keeping my post there when you deleted and said you were too tired to argue? That felt icky to do to a friend.

Here is a list of mood-boosting books courtesy of the Daily Mail.

I cannot believe that I have only ever heard of one of them!

Our wings are not tired.

I'm checking out the list when off my phone.

I am hanging out in the building lobby where my son is seeing a doctor for a general physical and to discuss his insomnia and digestive issues. I couldn't sit with him because I am too annoyed so I left. I had sent him the link for the WebMd list of ADHD symptoms where he is clearly 10/10. His position is that these are personality traits not symptoms and not a medical issue. I tried.

I enrolled him in evening college classes. He should do well. I couldn't put him in early classes because he has managed to get to work on time exactly once on months. And then he hit the couch and napped from 11 to 2. Head desk.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Laura}}} You can't do anything other than give him the information. He needs to want the help enough to get it himself.

Another day, more appointments booked.

Good luck with the tough love, Laura.

I am feeling very gronky, this morning, because I got back from dinner with a friend and had a terrible headache. It was 730pm and I thought "I'll take some flexeril and read until I'm sleepy". At 9 it still hadn't kicked in, so I took a migraine pill, because OW. And at 1030 I took another flexeril because OMG why was it not working. I remember seeing the clock at 11pm and wanting to cry....and then suddenly my alarm was going off. Agh. Gotta get lots done today. Not gonna happen, I think.

Oh Laura. Bless your heart. Perhaps the doctor...being not of the family...can talk some sense into him. Whatever the case, big hugs to you.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I am playing hookey. I took a sick day yesterday, and I'm doing it again today. I wrangled some financial stuff that resulted in significantly lowering my interest rate on my credit card debt, so frankly I think that was a better use of my time, anyway! I will probably pay for my deceit by actually getting the flu.

But man, there's a lot to be said for relaxing and (at least temporarily) not giving a shit. Honey Badger is my spirit animal.

Can I get a 'there there'?

It's stupid, but I'm maximally frustrated. Ironically, because I was trying to add a meditation track to my ipod. By innocently going along with the prompts...after trying to add it manually and failing...I now have exactly one thing on the ipod. The meditation track.

ALL my songs, playlists, audiobooks, etc. have been erased.

They still exist in itunes, thank god, but are totally gone from the ipod. I could scream.

Definitely NOT feeling zen right now.
