I just wish they'd stop doing the ads on TV. They drive me crazy! The mood enhancement ones are so vague, it could fit a million condtions. The list of side effects turns me off. But the ED drug ads are the ones that annoy me the most. Ugg.
ION- I caught up! I was several hunderd posts behind. Today is turning out to be a calm before the storm. So fuck it. I'm taking a half day. I have 140 vacation hours that I never have time to take. So I'm takeing a couple today.
((Quester!!)))
Smonster, you doing better over there?
SJ, how about you?
So many Bitches need brackets. I give hugs to all that wants them.
IOmeN, tomorrow, I should get my Phillips Hue starter pack. Fun with color changing LED's lights! I know what I'm doing on my one day off on Saturday. (and yes, I am bummed I have to work 12 hours on Super Bowl Sunday, with no TV's around to steal a view anywhere).
I'm ok. Frustrated and tired but ok. Thanks, Omnis.
When I requested my insurance company find me a therapist, I asked for someone that did DBT therapy. DBT didn't come up today, but I want to bring it up at my appointment next Friday. If anyone can direct me to a website or has info on what to look for in a DBT therapist between now and next Friday, I'd really appreciate it.
Big pharma spends more on marketing and advertising than research. And that does not even include the fact that a lot trials are redundant, used to market to doctors, even though they count as research.
Also there is the tendency to do multiple studies and then squelch the ones with unfavorable results.
In general we would be better off with more public funding of research, moving clinical trials out of the hands of private companies and into the public realm entirely, and shorter patent periods.
H just canceled for tomorrow. I wasn't looking forward to getting up at 4:30, but I was looking forward to seeing G and the money.

Well, yes. But that's so far from where I think things could realistically go.
Oh, Cass, btw, I got your email last night, but wanted to give more thought to my response, and then today my brane has been gone. Can I respond tomorrow?
Well, it costs 1 cent for the active ingredient NOW. But someone had to develop it, figure out if it worked for anything, figure out if it was safe to take... Little things. Drug companies do make a lot of money but the part I don't begrudge them is recouping their initial investment.
Not to mention that for every drug that comes to market, there are many that made it almost all the way through clinical trials only to fail.
omnis, thanks for the brackets. I am still in a lot of pain, but was able to schedule a massage appointment for tomorrow at 4 pm. I'm eating comfort food and hoping to go to bed early.
sj, I'm not sure. You need someone who's a good group facilitator, but that may be hard to evaluate one on one. I would look for empathy, someone you feel comfortable with, willingness to draw boundaries, etc. This site apparently has a "find a provider" search, though I haven't tried it - [link]
God, I wish I had a tube of cookie dough to destroy right now. NOM.
Deleting because I am too tired to argue and I know I am not a disinterested party.
edit: deleted because it was going for a conversation and I'll respect javachik's deletion.
