I don't care if it is an orgy of death, there's still such a thing as a napkin.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Scrappy, you should do it!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Scrappy, that's a great idea.

The home visit person from the dog rescue is coming in about half an hour. I've got the apartment neater than it's been in a while -- the big piles of "stuff to take to electronics recycling" and "stuff to take to Goodwill" are now in my car. I hadn't realized quite how much room that stuff was taking up.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hil, best of luck!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Here's a funny coincidence I was reminded of today. About 7 or 8 years ago, a dude knocked on my apartment door. He lived below me and his bathroom ceiling had just caved in - as it turned out from a water leak inside the wall that they eventually had to knock down my bedroom wall to fix.

I just interviewed that dude for a job. And in fact, at the time all this wall destruction happened he actually had my job.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I think it's a fantastic idea, Scrappy.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Very weird stuff, brenda. Is he a good candidate for the job?

Scrappy...what everyone else has said. Go school!

I think the home visit went pretty well. The woman who came said that the person who runs the rescue will get in touch with me about the next steps.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Scrappy,

also, many institutions also have financial support geared toward "older" graduate students, so you might be able to have some additional financial assistance as well.

I think the buffista populace endorse your idea!

Nah, we agreed it's not right for him. But still so funny.

We did meet once in the intervening years, about 4 years ago at a going away party for someone else, which is how we first made the connection. But I'd forgotten that this was the same guy.

Also funny: Lucy seems to have made an impression on him. On both occasions, he was all "you've got a really big dog, right? And you used to live at 515 Briar?"

Compassionately intolerant

So, I'm kinda thinking of going back to school to get a Master's in Social Work to become a therapist. I'm 56. Is this nuts?

I totally endorse this plan Scrappy.

I was 40 when I finished my MS and, in the ensuing years realized something that should have been obvious to me from the outset. People are more comfortable talking to someone with some miles on them.

I certainly support your practice by buying a Scrappy Is Wise t-shirt.
