5) I still make a kick ass Bailey's chocolate cheesecake.
I'm sorry, but that's the sort of statement I just can't take on faith.
'Beneath You'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Buffista sprog cutieheads!
Taking a break from going through the multitude of decoration bins. Oh my. Too much stuff. Any strand of lights that doesn't light first try goes straight to trash.
Tomorrow night I am having friends and family over to watch the boat parade. Good an excuse as any to get this house festive. I didn't think my parents would be able to make it because of step dad's recent surgery, and they did have a good excuse. They are going to a friend's 100th birthday party tonight. Mom and her DH used to sing in the community chorus with her. The 100 yo friend - still singing in chorus!
Pix, great news, your dad said my timing was perfect because he was just reading about the 50th anniversary of our community boat parade in the paper when my email invite arrived. He was delighted to have the chance to see the festive boats without having to face crowd parking issues. We're looking forward to seeing him.
Ok, break time over. Think I will hang some lights, which is silly since I have to use a ladder, but the tall folk are all doing other stuff.
Laura, you are the best. He will absolutely love to see you and the parade.
Picked up a smaller tree, about 5 feet. Decorated it with sentimental favorite ornaments and mardi gras beads!
Nora, our tree is just under 5 feet this year, and I love it.
We have a small tree (4 feet, maybe) that we put on a side table, because our house is small and the dog and cats would knock over a tree that sits on the floor. In about 20 seconds.
We have 2 cats, and even the young frisky one is pretty good about Christmas trees. He'll play with low-branch ornaments in the night some, but we've never had a flying leap or other sort of full-on attack. I did once observe the felling of a tree by a climbing adolescent kitten, and it was very exciting! (Our tree is currently bare and resting. Come down, you branches! I think at the current rate of descent we will not be trimming until tomorrow.)
I consider myself very lucky in that Miss Kitty and Noodle both basically ignore the tree and any ornaments. Noodle was very interested in the lights when I was checking them and they were laid on the floor. But now that everything is up, they haven't flipped over anything. Knock on wood, toss salt over my shoulder and whatever else you are supposed to do to prevent jinxing yourself.
Never had a problem with any tree with any of my pets.
My next door neighbors, on the other hand, have a male dog who thinks he has to mark EVERY tree, including Christmas trees. Gross. I think they've gotten to the point, after years of trying barriers, on top of tables, etc, that they're just giving up.
