It's a beautiful day here, too. I'm working until 3, and then running errands and doing stuff at home, and then yummy Indian food with Tom and Nora and D and RI and some of D's friends. Cannot wait! I haven't had Indian since I moved here.

Ha! The lure of Indian food cannot be denied. And this place is supposed to be super good, according Nora and pretty much everyone who's gone there. All day I've been exclaiming randomly things like "Mango lassi!" and "Garlic naan!!"

Sooo....Hi, y'all! I've been extra-lurky and skimmy lately as it has been super busy. A few things I have learned:

1) A hot doctor should not be allowed to perform colonoscopies. Seriously.

2) Same hot doctor should not use the phrase "You have a beautiful colon." Upshot is I'm still anemic and don't really know why.

3) When you're in your 40's, a simple physical turns into all kinds of follow up appointments with specialists. Upshot on all those is I'm healthy and don't have breast, skin, or colon cancer.

4) A group of women planning a bridal shower really don't communicate well together.

5) I still make a kick ass Bailey's chocolate cheesecake.

ChiKat, glad you're getting a clean bill of health. Anemia~ma, though. Let's hope it just means iron pills and vitamins or something.

So sorry about your kitty, Laura. It's hard when you want to make their passing easier, but aren't given the opportunity.

Damn, I just had the best Reuben sandwich.

Which I made myself. The deli case at safeway was selling Turkey Pastrami half price so I grabbed some. I usually don't buy pastrama at all, much less turkey pastrami but I'll let a bargain dictate my shopping.

And I knew I had some fancy Happy Girl Kitchen Pink Kraut in the fridge. But I didn't have Rye bread or Swiss cheese or Thousand Island dressing.

So I improvised with the good bread I got from Brioche, their feta cheese and green onion loaf (Italian style bread). It wasn't Rye but it would be good toasted. And I mixed ketchup and mayo and relish together for the Thousand Island and put in some horseradish to push it closer to a remoulade sauce. And I used Gruyere as my melty cheese.

Then I put the stack of pastrami in the oven with a layer of kraut in the middle and Gruyere on top, toasted my feta/onion bread and slathered it in my dressing and IT WAS SO GOOD.
