I'm supposed to deliver you to the Master now. There's this whole deal where I get to be immortal. Are you cool with that?

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

neurotoxin-laden bug repellant

I have read that there's evidence that catnip oil is as good a bug repellant as DEET. I have not dared to try it, because, cats. But if someone else would kindly slather herself in catnip oil and go for a walk in the buggy outdoors to test this for me, I'd be quite grateful.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The CDC now also recommends the repellants made from oil of lemon eucalyptus, which seem to work pretty well when I remember to put them on. I'm leery of DEET.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Lavender oil works well with Mosquitos, but I'm not sure about other bugs.

I am at the doctor's office. There is a great deal of confusion here over who I need to be seeing for which problems. Too many things to choose from apparently.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I have not had good luck with herbal repellents. Am with Calli on hoping for a good hard freeze. I can't tell you how often I think, "The insects are winning here."

Man, I love my boss, but he forgot to tell me that he and my two other coworkers will be working with us tomorrow. Hi, I need to know these things so I can plan for them! Also, it is going to be hella crowded all working in one room.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Hmmm. While my cat is kinda iffy on the whole catnip obsession thing, I'm not sure I want to test the effect of a whole-body slather on him.

Our local hippy co-op sells a nice herbal bug repellant that works in lighter years. This year the mosquitoes seemed to treat it as special sauce. I'm sticking with DEET for now.

brillig

smear on catnip oil, use cats as ablative armor against mosquitos. Downside: might be a bit warm, being covered in kitties. Upside: Kitties!

move out and draw fire

But then the kitties get sucked dry by the mosquitoes.

So only use cats you don't like.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

askye, I continue to be impressed by your toughness and self-awareness. Luck to you.

Sorry Pix, and mah fellow entrees, I've no answers about the bugs. They've been light here this year, thank jebus.

Omnis, that's a fantastic deal on the laundry stack. Want pics of the closet if you obey the organizers.

Raq!

Um, no. I think that's about all.

not your mom's socks.

HPF is covered in scratched bites. Count us among the bitten.

Also, she has discovered the other side of short hair: bed head. She is unconsolable.

In other news: I am just going to sit quietly in the corner over here. As I've been doing. But I'll keep doing it. Hope that's ok.

I will share pics when it happens. Won't be for awhile. First, gotta fix concrete, second, finish flooring, third, is the closet.
