Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

My dad's coworker just had twins, a boy and a girl, and I was helping my mother buy a baby present. She wanted to get matching outfits. It took us forever to find one outfit that would "work" for a boy or a girl -- everything in the store was either "Daddy's Little Princess" and pink ruffles, or "Mommy's Little Slugger" and sports uniforms. After a long while, we found some turquoise and orange plaid overalls with an octopus on the front, which we agreed were actually gender neutral.

I have no logical answer to that. I guess because in my shallow little brain if it isn't covered in princesses and rhinestones, it's boy clothes. t looks down at her own outfit of an Avengers t-shirt and jean shorts Which, the large majority of my own clothes would fall into.
Like I said, I know I'm totally wrong on this. And I have never said anything to them or anyone about how they dress their kids. I constantly tell Emeline that there are no boy things or girl things - there are just things that people, boys and girls, do.
It is sometimes just funny to me what and how my brain categorizes stuff sometimes.
At least they aren't capitalizing on the blonde ringlets by putting her into a Little Lord Fauntleroy outfit.
I guess?
Ok - that would be cuter than hell.
I want to get my hair cut before a wedding that I'm going to in a few weeks, but my stylist is out of town, and the earliest appointment I can get is for the day after the wedding. Guess I'll have to go to the wedding with somewhat scraggly hair.

I don't think that's necessarily the case, more that there is often more rigid adherence to gender norms when dressing boys. Then again my boy likes bright colors and lots of patterns so his clothes may veer more to the "gender neutral" side than the average boy.
my back has itched all day and a gnat committed some kind of ritual suicide in my water glass. I live like the Push Girls, people. One excitement after the other. At least I didn't drink the gnat.
Hil,
I think it was you who suggested the tadpoles mats. I just put one together and it was great for the kitchen to stand on while doing dinner last night.

Great! Yeah, I used one in my old apartment, where the kitchen floor was really hard ceramic tile. I don't need it as much in my new apartment, where there's just linoleum over wood.
