Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I found a task to do, that requires no thinking/moving. Here at work, we are changing from Oracle to Outlook for scheduling. They have online videos to train me. I am watching them. Even though we are using the web version, and the training videos are for the Windows application version, and they are different.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I went to Target, have a load in the dishwasher, made the bed and have worked on a sample for a potential client for an hour (yeah, I get paid to work on samples. It's my time, beeyotches!)

I'm up against one copyeditor for this MS, and I want it, because the author was a co-founder of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, won two Daytime Emmy Awards as a writer-producer for the Walt Disney Company, and, most recently, authored a New York Times Book Review "Editor's Choice" and a California Book Awards finalist. ! His agent recommended me!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I am arguing about contraception with a very religious Catholic friend on facebook. I should stop, because this is getting annoying. I keep saying things like "this is how this would affect me" or "this is how this has affected these actual women I know," and he always responds things like "in the case of a woman who..." He seems completely unwilling to step out of the theoretical, and it's driving me nuts.

Trust my rage

I think my favorite pregnancy book was one that showed in uterine images of the baby every week or so. It was coffee table sized. I loved Dr Sears' Baby Book also but that's not really a pregnancy book.

I am shocked (ok, surprised maybe) that there are people who would give you a hard time. I guess that is probably my privilege talking.

Sammy is now 6 months old, sitting up, and enjoying solid food. He is just the greatest thing ever.

It sounds like he isn't open for debate, to see the other side, and learn from it. All he wants to do is convert you to his point of view. If you are not wanting to be converted, then say "I'm afraid it looks like we will never see eye to eye on this topic" and step away from the discussion.

Yeah, I just posted something like that. I think I got a little too reality-based for him, by mentioning actual body parts and processes, and he said it was "inappropriate" for facebook. (I wasn't aware that anything was inappropriate for facebook, but whatever.)

Trust my rage

One of my FB friends -a teenager-just liked a picture of a naked woman and man in the shower. The guy has his hand inside her. I thought that was sort of inappropriate for FB.

But as long as we are discussing body parts and not showing them, I'm good with it.

Go you! Also, where do I get one of those shirts?

Usually its more subtle than outright hostile, but yeah people suck. I did have one (former) friend tell me outright I should adopt and never get pregnant because I didn't know what it could do to my body.

sj! So excited for you! The PG books already mentioned are the ones I had as well (What To Expect, Happiest Baby on the Block). I also kept a blog (still do, actually) and was part of a group of lesbians who were all pregnant with our first at the same time. So fun! Anyway, EXCITED!
