And almost sixty-five percent of that was actual compliment. Is that a personal best?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Cass, please continue to rambling as long as you need to. I wish I could do more to help than read your posts and send sympathetic thoughts your way.

As I believe someone else said up thread, the few seconds I sometimes see of Tosh when I DVR the Daily show are enough to have made me hate him; this latest thing, I don't even want to know.

Paging Jilli, I bought this skull scarf at Hot Topic today. It reminded me of the Alexander McQueen one I saw in London last year.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

If you itemize on taxes, those donations really do add up.

java, how do you figure out how much to count each item for? I mean, if I donate a thing, do I count how much I paid for it, or how much I think Goodwill can get for it, or what?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

There's a valuation guide on Goodwill's site. If you pay for tax software, it's also often included there.

I'm not javachick, but when my stepdad does it the donation value is for 1/3 the price you originally paid for the item. I believe that is what his accountant told him to do.

Our wings are not tired.

Yep, I use TurboTax and it links into an official donation site that averages value for you depending on the condition of the item. Nifty! And it really does make a difference in the return amount.

Thank you all! Brilliant.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So I am having to buy moving blankets/pads because I am doing upack and apparently they don't come with moving blankets/pads.

It is recommended that I buy 5 dozen. Which is what I did.

WTF am I going to do with all these pads after I move? Should I sell most of them on craigslist? I'm fine with keeping a dozen, but I have no use for 5 dozen.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Are you able to donate the tv? If you itemize on taxes, those donations really do add up. I donate everything these days (other than things I give away to friends) just to avoid the hassle of flakey buyers.

No one will come pick it up! I am on the second floor and I can't move it by myself. Well, I have. But it's dumb. Enough that Jilli yells at me. And I won't try the stairs.

I will donate it anywhere but I made a ton of calls a few months ago and no bites. It's a Mistubishi 26" tv (CS-2610R) with remote in great condition. Someone take the damn thing!

I've gotten to know the guy at the donation site pretty well in the past few days. I am just collecting my receipts as I go. I think I have six so far. In two days. My goal is to only have to move 2/3 of the items I had when I decided to move.

Craigslist, yes. Packing supplies go like wildfire there.

Where did you get them? I need to figure out how to move my actual tv.
