WTF am I going to do with all these pads after I move? Should I sell most of them on craigslist? I'm fine with keeping a dozen, but I have no use for 5 dozen.
Craigslist, yes. Packing supplies go like wildfire there.
Where did you get them? I need to figure out how to move my actual tv.
Cass, could taskrabbit.com help? I bet you could list it and for pretty cheap have someone come and take it (and any other donations you have) to the center and send you your receipt.
(Let me know if you're just in venting mode and don't want tips! I would totally understand!)
Cass,
try posting it on freecycle. I am sure someone will take it if you said it is free.
In Portland? Please.
How big is your building? Input my old one in the hall and stuck a "free tv on 8th floor" sign in the elevator. It was gone by the time I got back from dog walking.
I could get rid of it for free but that involves letting two total strangers into my place. And no halls. I suppose I could FaceTime someone while people were here. Craigslist is just a creepy place to find strangers to let into my place.
Cass, could taskrabbit.com help?
Totally! I am checking that out.
Actually if it doesn't work, I am moving it right outside my door and will list it for free. Then no one gets to come in. I can wiggle it the eight or so feet with no lifting it up.
Problem solved!
And I totally need to keep taskrabbit in mind. I'd completely forgotten about them.
Cass, if you just want it gone, try Freecycle. My experience is Freecyclers will take anything and everything.
Um, yes. As already suggested. Ne'er mind.
Purple Heart also picks up items for donation, including household items, but I'm not sure if they would come into your apartment. Maybe get the guy you gave the microwave to to move it for you?
purple heart used to come right in and take it. they probably will if you call and schedule.
I am caught up but no time to do a good long meara, so I will just send appropriate hugs and ~ma and WTF out in all directions.
My coworker described our day today as "trying to make an oval fit a rhombus", and that actually pretty much sums it up. Literally, even. Except I would add, "in the rain."
Okay, gotta fix a quick lunch for tomorrow, stretch and then bed. Not enough hours, yo.
Purple Heart is always calling me with pickup dates and flyers (I think the previous resident must have patronized them.)
Peace to you Cass, on this next step in a hard journey.
Scrappy, your mom's in my thoughts.
And everyone dealing with loss, too. I tend to skim through here on occasion, and miss stuff.
