Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

I keep plugging along. My new vacuum is awesome though and has picked up tons of stuff I think the other was missing. And as soon as I get a section clear I vacuum because it makes me want to keep that section clean. Plus it makes things look better.

Will is coming over tomorrow and he'll help me some plus give me a morale boost.

We were going to go have a picnic and meander around a state park but there's a 50% change of rain tomorrow so we may have some indoor fun instead.

They have remade Steel Magnolias with an all-black cast

WUT. I mean, WUT.

Yeah I've seen a preview of it.

It looks...interesting. And it seems to follow the original rather faithfully.

It's weird I watched the preview thinking Queen Latifah doesn't seem old enough to play M'Lynn, but then I checked and she's only a year younger than Sally Field was when she played it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

OMG. They have remade Steel Magnolias with an all-black cast (including Queen Latifah, Jill Scott, and Alfre Woodard!) for Lifetime. Seriously?? A remake?? I mean, I love the cast and would watch them in something, but...a remake of Steel Magnolias?

That actually sounds like a good idea. I endorse it, reserving final judgment until such time as I get a look at it.

Have you forgotten Death at a Funeral, a remake of Death at a Funeral

I might have found a car. A certified BMW, same year as my old car, has all wheel drive (apparently a must in snowy CT winters). Lower mileage than my old car (by 10K), and less than a thousand dollars over the settlement.

For some reason I thought Miss Debbie Allen was in the remake so I was disappointed to see she wasn't.

Although in my recent massive rewatch of Grey's Anatomy THRILLED to see she was Dr. Avery! And hooked up with Dr. Weber.

I am old and broke and lazy (and have a headlight out on my car), so instead of mambo-ing with a butch chick version of Johnny Castle, I'm sitting on my porch drinking white wine and watching lightning. No rain here ATM, but the breeze feels incredible.

Whoo! Indoor fun! If you know what I mean and I think you do.

Just kidding around.

I have no opinion about Steel Magnolias being remade. I don't care about the original. Am intrigued about the race switcheroo since it's all Southern shenanigans.

That sounds stupid and anti-South, but I don't mean it to be. It makes sense in my head though.

I am watching Deep Space Nine. I didn't have a very good day, had some unpleasantness with my boss.

I knew what you meant, Nora. And it was a play first, right?

I knew quotes from Steel Magnolias before I ever saw it, from roommates having it memorized.

I have no plans for tomorrow, except maybe accompanying R while she takes the kittens to the emergency vet. Mickle isn't doing too well compared to her brother.
