Flanking maneuvers are a good idea. I use them on my family all the time.

Ryan had a haircut this weekend. Biggest meltdown I've ever seen from him. We primed him by watching a DVD of kids getting a haircut. We talked about it beforehand. He got to watch Daddy get his hair cut first. He got to sit on Mummy's lap. None of it helped once the scissors started in.

Of course, at childcare he's still speaking of his haircut as if he successfully quested for the hidden treasures of Salladhor Saan or something. Also of his new shoes, which have sparkly lights in the heel when he walks. He's styling.

Dude, he spent half his life growing that stuff! I feel his pain. To this day I hate getting haircuts. But. At some point, the bangs in the eyes overpower the hate. The scales of a Libra. Always balancing out in the end.

ION - I think my bank has all the documents they need. Hopefully will have a timeline tomorrow of when closing will be! Eeeep!

It's times like this, I wish there was slightly more uniformity in book shapes. When packing, you really notice that slight height difference in books. And really wish they'd shave it down a 1/16th of an inch, so it can saddle up with it's neighbor in the box. But Nooooo. Gotta be unique.

Also. It's really interesting to see what books get nestled in with each other when packed.

Another also. Seems one of my college books, I decided to write poetry in the back pages. 1) why there? Hello. Notebooks! and 2) Why that book? Oh, to be young, and shy, and full of puppy love.

Lastly. I didn't notice this before, but my Jungle Book book by Kipling is real old. Like falling apart old. BUT! In the copyright page, the book title has a swastika!! I was like, WHOA! But, it really pre-dated the whole Nazi thing. It looks to be more of the ancient Indian sign for good luck and well being. But still. Took me me by surprise. Too bad it's not a 1st edition. But then again, given the cover is almost all the way off, it's not like it's in good enough condition to be worth anything.

Right there with you. (Not that I dislike it, or anything, but it's not a genre I dig, and I already have a stack of books to read that are just taunting me at this point. I don't need to add to the stack.)
