Oh no, Pix! That is so scary.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Apparently she was sitting in her car outside the theatre waiting for a meeting and a guy walked up, stuck a gun through her window, and demanded her phone and iPad. She apparently didn't realize it was a gun initially and grabbed at it thinking he was soliciting her. Oh God she could have been killed so easily.
She doesn't know any of our numbers by heart except, thankfully, ND's because she worked with him for years before smartphones. She went into the theatre and borrowed someone's phone to call him. He told me and helped set up a full wipe on the devices through iCloud, I called our other best friend B who lives in Hollywood, and she drove over to the theatre and found C talking with the police. Once she's done we are all going to meet up so she isn't alone.
Oh jeez, poor C! I'm so glad you guys can be there for her.
Pix, how awful! I'm so glad C wasn't hurt.
Yikes--and yay for ND's tech skills!
Pix - that is awful. I'm glad that C is okay and that ND was able to wipe the devices.
We took our young Irish friend (who came to America to hook up with a guy and is now married and 8 weeks pregnant, but we love her anyway even though we think she's very silly) out today because she doesn't drive here and doesn't have access to a car anyway. We took her to lunch then to a museum up at Brigham Young University. While there, a woman my age (late 40s/50s, more than old enough not to be threatened by 19 year olds anymore)went up to her, gave her a smarmy grin, and said, "You're so cute and thin. I hate you," huffed, glared, and left. Nadine said if she'd been back home, she would have gotten in the woman's face and challenged her, but in Utah she's becoming used to the weird passive/aggressive sweetly phrased insult.
smonster, I agree with erica - don't put the Band-Aid back on. His message sounded very manipulative to me.
Pix, your poor friend. I'm so glad she's okay and you are all there for her. And ND wiping her stolen devices remotely sounds like superheroics to me! I didn't even know that was possible.
Connie, seriously, some woman you don't even know came up and said that to your friend? WTF?
Steph, the little girl dressed as Merida who was too dangerous to get a bow? That's fantastic. Brave may not be a great movie (haven't seen it yet myself) but I'm happy there's a movie heroine role-model for little girls who'd rather shoot things than get married.

Just waltzed right up, "smiled," and said it, then huffed away. No clue who she was.
Connie, that is messed up.
Thanks for the advice, y'all.
So, one of my neighborfriends is going to try and talk her sister into fostering the kittens! And if not then she might! Cross your digits, people.
