'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Thanks!

I saw what you did there!

What? I have no idea what you're talking about....

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Very cool, ChiKat! Brava!

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I had the door open between the kitchen and the living room a minute ago, while putting Merlin's food into a bowl. I took it through to the lounge and there was a little face at the edge of the behind-sofa space, clearly trying to decide if food was more important than the combined risk of people/other cats. In the end he came out for a bit of food, glaring at me the whole time, before running back in. But he's sitting much closer to the edge now. Yay emerging kitty!

This has been your daily cat update.

ION, we get a four-day weekend here for the Queen's Jubilee. I am trying to work out whether I'm happy about this, or would prefer proper democracy to a double holiday. On the other hand, I can get afternoon tea in about twenty-five different places in my neighbourhood on Monday and Tuesday. (God, I'm so British.)

Edit: Ongoing no-more-blood-poisoning wishes, smonster!

She's my head of state too, and we don't get squat for holidays. For two days off, I'd put up fucking BUNTING!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

She did not feel sorry for me, she did not patronize or judge. She simply saw the hole in my heart and tried to fill as much of it as she could with loving kindness.

THAT is why I didn't think of anyone, or anything else when I saw the opportunity to repay even a fraction of their kindness.

I am so very glad that this woman exists. Kindness and goodness like this hold the darkness at bay. I am glad that she is in your life, bonny. And I wish I could put the non-friend in a full-brain cast to let her stew in her own juices until she either actually becomes healthy or completely liquifies and is unable to harm anyone else with her poisonous attitude.

Strix, sending vibes for a strong wall of protection around you and your family.

smonster, still sending healing vibes.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This has been your daily cat update.

Yay, Merlin!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

For anyone who might appreciate it - nail polish in a skull-shaped bottle. Some colors by this maker come in glow-in-the-dark.

I'm doing laundry at Nora and Tom's (because they're awesome!) house and called both my credit cards to see if they'd lower my APR. Credit union doesn't offer a lower limit on this card; Chase claims they aren't lowering *anyone's* rates right now and my account will be re-evaluated in August. Called Chase back to ask for a higher limit, denied.

Argh. But my score is slowly improving, so I'll just keep plugging along.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Don't be fooled by the "re-evaluating" line. They "re-evaluated" mine back in January and left it exactly as sky-high as it already was (seriously - highest rate I've got, including store and gas cards!) I used my tax refund to pay them off. Bastards!

(That is to say, it might be worth the trouble to do a balance transfer if someone makes you a reasonable offer - good luck!)
