Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

For anyone who might appreciate it - nail polish in a skull-shaped bottle. Some colors by this maker come in glow-in-the-dark.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I'm doing laundry at Nora and Tom's (because they're awesome!) house and called both my credit cards to see if they'd lower my APR. Credit union doesn't offer a lower limit on this card; Chase claims they aren't lowering *anyone's* rates right now and my account will be re-evaluated in August. Called Chase back to ask for a higher limit, denied.

Argh. But my score is slowly improving, so I'll just keep plugging along.

Don't be fooled by the "re-evaluating" line. They "re-evaluated" mine back in January and left it exactly as sky-high as it already was (seriously - highest rate I've got, including store and gas cards!) I used my tax refund to pay them off. Bastards!

(That is to say, it might be worth the trouble to do a balance transfer if someone makes you a reasonable offer - good luck!)

Yeah, Epic, I know. The credit card lady at my credit union gave me some good advice. Just going to keep whittling down the debt, starting with Chase.

Glad to hear I'm following your CU lady's good advice myself, then. Good luck cutting them off quickly!

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Credit cards are always fun, in that regard. I remember watching my sister knock down serious debt over a couple years. And the agencies that "help" you, most often are scams. IIRC, she did a lot of intro rate transfers, and then doing minimums on the low interest, and as much as she could afford on the higher interest ones. I want to say she had about a dozen cards at one time, between the ones she was swapping to, and from. It made the head spin.

This is why I'm trying very hard not to do any more balance transfers, no matter how tempting it would be to cut some of these CC companies from another cent of interest - I Don't Want Any More Cards (Seriously, Too Many). So now I'm just chipping away at the highest rates and trying to be (somewhat) responsible with spending (trying being the operative word - did a little retail therapy for a wicked emotional trough last week...but y'know what, my new Avengers toys are still making me smile, so I'm not even too mad at me...)

edit to clarify: not trying to contradict myself, you sounded like you only had a couple of cc's, smonster, otherwise I wouldn't have said balance transfer, not if you're over-plastic-y like I am...

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I have three cards and carry a balance on two. I may look at getting a reward card and doing a balance transfer, we'll see.

The status is NOT quo.

Well, the difficult dept member is apparently staying at my school and “opened his heart” to my division director about how all the mistakes I’ve made as his supervisor this year. Yeah. Good news: boss knows me well and has concluded that this is just a bad match and someone else will supervise him next year--bad news: this makes me feel like a total failure and definitely made me look bad to all of my bigger bosses.

I know it shouldn’t bother me so much, but it really does.
