But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thanks, sj! I'm trying to get an idea of where Mom and I can stay in Edinburgh, York, and London, in particular (we'll probably B&B it the rest of the time).

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Kathy, I highly recommend the Regency Hotel located at Queensgate St in London. More reasonable than anything else we found and very nice. We didn't stay in York, but the Fleece Inn at Haworth is lovely.

Happy to help. I'll e-mail you a list of places we recommend eating at, when I'm home and recovered from the jet lag. I found it very easy to make reservations online ahead of time, if you're interested in doing that kind of thing.

I just checked--the Regency is fully booked for June and July, it looks like.

Kathy, I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't have any trouble booking at the last minute, but I guess October is easier.

Wee--I just had to open up my room options, and there are rooms available! So, a "club twin" is different than a "regency twin" how?

ETA: my sister warned me that the terminology for British hotel rooms is very confusing--she was right!

I have no idea. I found their website confusing and ended up e-mailing them to book because they do have a breakfast included option that I could not find on their website.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Because of that! Those things affect you too, and people you care about.

It kills me how we have this instinct to feel guilty when we're treated decently, instead of just outraged that it's not the norm. (Or the uglier side of that coin, that we/someone should feel grateful and not make waves.) Ugh. I haven't figured out a way to excise those reactions from my psyche.

You are right, brenda. It absolutely should be the norm. And I get angry when I think about what I get paid to do my silly job in relation to teachers and others whose jobs are so important to society. It sucks that we often have to make a choice between doing an important job that we are passionate about or making enough money to live comfortably. Ugh.
