It's a real burden being right so often.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Kathy, I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't have any trouble booking at the last minute, but I guess October is easier.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Wee--I just had to open up my room options, and there are rooms available! So, a "club twin" is different than a "regency twin" how?

ETA: my sister warned me that the terminology for British hotel rooms is very confusing--she was right!

I have no idea. I found their website confusing and ended up e-mailing them to book because they do have a breakfast included option that I could not find on their website.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Because of that! Those things affect you too, and people you care about.

It kills me how we have this instinct to feel guilty when we're treated decently, instead of just outraged that it's not the norm. (Or the uglier side of that coin, that we/someone should feel grateful and not make waves.) Ugh. I haven't figured out a way to excise those reactions from my psyche.

You are right, brenda. It absolutely should be the norm. And I get angry when I think about what I get paid to do my silly job in relation to teachers and others whose jobs are so important to society. It sucks that we often have to make a choice between doing an important job that we are passionate about or making enough money to live comfortably. Ugh.

Nevermind.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Also another way to look at it is the system of big business sucks. Does not mean there are not big businesses who try to be decent within it, but the power imbalance inherent in the system, along with profit as the top priority means it will never be the majority of big businesses. Even those who try not to be evil will fail on occasion if they survive long enough and grow big enough. We need a structural change.

Thrive to spite them

I did not get the position at the non profit. The temp agency submitted another resume and that person and less overall experience but had working knowledge of Publisher and Power Point which is why the non profit went with them.

It's frustrating but I wasn't getting my hopes up too high and I'll start training for the other job on Monday or Tuesday.

Cereal - I don't have Micrsoft Office on my computer (I never bought it) but I was wondering are there any free or low cost online courses I could take to learn the Microsoft Office Suite without actually having it on my computer?

YAY! Awww, look Tim: Mainstream media, still courting you! Now go do a really good job on Dark Shadows, okay? Not like what happened with Alice In Wonderland.
