The Makeup Forever lasted through my personal version of the apocalypse, so I love it unreasonably.
Drugstore-ish mascaras that I like: NYX Doll eyes and Rimmel Glam'Eyes (yes, I growl at the ridiculous apostrophe). They don't smudge on me, but won't last through hysterical sobbing.
I met sj! She and her DH are truly awesome! We had a really lovely time at Nottingham Castle and at the oldest pub in England (which serves very good desserts and, I hear, not bad ale).
Thanks for the info, ladies! I am all ready to go, but am not wearing mascara. I think I will stop by the Dior counter and sample DiorShow and make up my mind.
I don't usually have a problem with smudging, which is why I was so pissed at Voluminous Carbon Black. It it awful, but the regular Voluminous was my go-to drugstore mascara, but I liked the idea of blacker-than-black. I can't UNrecommend Carbon enough.
I don't wear waterproof; I just don't like it for some reason. I will report back -- I know you're DYING to know my decision! @@
I don't wear waterproof
Oh, then try the DiorShow. Man, I love it. I am hoping to try the waterproof and love it just as much but with added "can make it through a PNW winter"ness.
Granted, makeup is all personal just like anything else. Anything you can try before you buy is a good idea, in my book.
Hee! I want to know! I'm in the market for mascara. I haven't been able to find the Blinc locally. And anyway, this month spending money went toward bulbs, and next month it's going toward birdseed, so it'll be well nigh unto winter before I have spending money for makeup.
Damn Daniel! Both for the weight loss and the 2 months off. I cannot believe that.
Are you going to have to buy new clothes or will you put the weight back on (in part or full) as you get healthier and have better food?
Meanwhile, on Other Board, wrt: cosmetic vaginal surgeries (with the subtext of "remind me again, why all of our vaginas have to look like nine years old's ones?"). Someone tried the "hymenorrhaphy has been around for decades and it has spared many girls grief where virginity is an issue" argument.
Yes. Because all of the sudden, honor killing is the issue, not CVS as a beauty standard.
(The things that make me feel better, I tell you. You spend a day with Middle English texts, completely lost and clueless about your paper, and then you see a flawed argument somewhere, and you're like a dog with a bone and can't let go. That is, if you're me, today).
Edit: bad grammar. Bad, bad, bad grammar. I blame my day with Middle English.
Shir, no Ianto, sadly. No Jack or Gwen either.

Seska and The Girl are also, awesome! They drove us all over and we had a lovely time. Now we're back at the hotel and I'm going to collapse. So tired.
Oh! Sounds like you had a wonderful time, Ianto or not. Seska and The Girl and indeed wonderful (and I'm sure you too, sj - it's just that we never met each other. Yet).
Like Erin, I need new mascara, so thanks for the recs. I now am in a quandry, do I buy the DiorShow or the Blinc? Decisions, decisions...
