Oh Theresa, how heartbreaking!

The Humane Society of the United States named Yogi, a golden retriever, the 2011 Valor Dog of the Year for saving his owner’s life after a bicycle accident. Paul Horton of Austin, Texas, went over the handlebars on his mountain bike and landed on his head.
Horton was knocked unconscious. When he woke up, he couldn’t move and was bleeding from the nose and mouth. Yogi was at his side.
For the next 45 minutes, Horton pleaded with the 85-pound dog to go home and get help. Yogi didn’t want to leave. Horton couldn’t yell, and he was out of sight of passers-by, about 100 feet from a dead-end street.
Finally, Yogi headed back to the main road, where Horton’s neighbors Bruce and Maggie Tate were walking. The normally mellow dog barked frantically. The Tates knew something was wrong and followed Yogi to Horton. There, Yogi stood protectively by his friend.
“It’s pretty amazing that Yogi first stayed with Paul when he needed to, then recognized us and came to get us,” Bruce Tate said. “Paul was in desperate shape. He wasn’t in a place where there’s a lot of traffic.”
Doctors found that Horton’s vertebrae had pinched his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. They credit Yogi with saving Horton’s life. Horton has since regained some sensation, and has limited use of his arms. And Yogi is still his best friend.
Aww.
Hey, do we have an onerous task day coming up? I need one.
I was just thinking how my bi-weekly reporting day makes every other Thursday onerous task day. Or at least, task day. I have to have shit to report!
I want to work where someone wears this. I'm pretty sure there's no rule against it...
eta: Oops.
Head of the St STD to be auctioned off
This Sunday, an auction house in Ireland will sell off what is said to be the head of St Vitalis, patron saint of genital diseases. St Vitalis was canonized for "numerous miracles performed on those with bladder and genital disorders."
The head sat for many years in the family hall in County Louth, but was recently uncovered in an outhouse.
Mr Matthews said that although he couldn't be certain it was the head of a saint: "It's certainly ancient, and it's certainly the head of somebody."
The Holy Cross Monastery, a Benedictine order in Rostrevor, County Down, did not even know who St Vitalis was, and after an internet search, declined to comment further on the matter of his or anyone else's severed head.
I'm pretty sure there's no rule against it...
Love!
I have cleaned and sanitized the sickroom. It smells like bleach, but so far I have not actually gotten The Strep and therefore I feel I am winning. Another one of the dorm parents came down with it. So I am big with the hand washing.
Okay. I have to eat lunch, put away laundry (shocker), clean the master bedroom and bathroom, sort the benevolence groceries and get on my way by 3:00. I can do that. Right? I already worked on financials and email marketing stuff, and laundered a bunch of linens.
Man, they're doing a presentation on a big software change that's totally intersecting with the meeting I had just before this one. I just don't know if anyone knows other than me. And I don't know if anyone wants to know. File under questions ita doesn't want to ask.
SoCal GSDs looking for forever homes.
I can do that. Right?
Right!!!
