I've always been skeptical of rhubarb, this vegetable thingie that's supposed to make sweet pies. Of course, the easiest way to get rid of that skepticism would be to simply *eat* some rhubarb pie, but that way lies the consumption of other dread vegetables. And nobody wants that.

Connie, the only thing that makes rhubarb sweet is sugar. It is incredibly tart. You have to sugar the life out to get it edible. I will only eat strawberry rhubarb pies for this reason. I ate a slice of rhubarb pie and was not pleased.

Rhubarb is only technically a vegetable, like tomatoes are technically fruits. It requires sugar, which removes it from the vegetable category.
I don't really understand how people can believe in the end-of-the-world crazies, but mocking them after their lives have fallen apart is ugly.
Some of the rhubarb is pretty green, so I'm considering adding extra sugar. It's a cake with a streusel topping.
