I think i missed the source of this southern food thing, but the responses are hysterical. I used to loooooove chicken n dumpling even tho it always made me sick (allergic to chicken, but i couldn't resist the gloopy mess of heat n serve biscuits boiled in thick, creamy chicken stock. I'd try to scrape most of the chickeney-ness off the dumplings, but still. chicken. that was back in my single-digit age years. Hrm, wondering about cooking southern-style dumplings in yellow curry or thin dahl....

Oferchrissake. My x11 app stopped working for the second time in a month. I KNOW I need to upgrade my OS, but I've got enough shit going on, I can't cope with it. Fuckitall.
Yes, I'm still in a bad mood.
So, Mother's Day is Sunday. I would normally just get cards for my mother and grandmother and call it a day. But, I stumbled across some great little presents for my mother. AND my grandmother can't read cards anymore. How bad/risky is it to try to get flowers from the supermarket on Sunday to give to my grandmother? Also, how lame, given that my uncle will probably send her something FTD?
Also, why am I getting into a texting conversation with a stranger? I said wrong number!
Not lame, and probably not risky - I'm sure they'll have something decentish.
Jesse,
you might look around the supermarket because there might be other arrangements (fruit, desserts, etc.) that might appeal in addition to flowers.
OK, thanks -- my main worry is that they will be out of everything good by Sunday afternoon, but I'm pretty flexible with what I get. I will not worry about it!

CVS is a great place to go for last minute items for holidays.
The American commando team that killed Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, reportedly included a dog, sparking furious speculation about the dog's identity and discussion of the role of canines in war. Less publicized—and far more essential to top-secret U.S. military operations—are cats.
I don't think this dog is smart enough to join the Navy Seals....
