Headache abating slowly, got my first unemployment deposit (hallelu!) and am rewatching last week's Justified and will shortly watch tonight's finale. Three good things.

Why am I facebook friends with my cousins? One is posting all sorts of stuff about how she doesn't think that bin Laden is really dead (or, if he is, then he has been for years) while another is posting wondering why we cheer for the death of one mass murderer but we're so quick to forgive the mass murderer Michael Vick.

I've heard enough scary stories about goats to conclude the best defense is eating them.

I once read a rule of thumb that you do not tip if the person providing the service is also the owner/sole proprietor. As in, my aunt is a massage therapist and works out of her home; she's not part of a spa, medical office, or other group. Therefore, all the money from the cost of the massage goes to her; she doesn't have a boss or any other business entity that gets any of the fee for the massage.

When the service provider works for someone else (hair stylist in a salon, etc.), tipping makes sense, because the service provider is obviously not taking home the whole $75 for the massage.

Although possibly I have been engaging in jackassery when it comes to not tipping sole proprietors.
