Good neighborhoods make you love the humans.
And I like being a good neighbor. And find it really funny that I've become a neighbor that introduces people to each other.

And to think that seeing a bike on the porch next door and all the dogwalkers and parents and kids walking about on the 3 visits I made gave me the gut certainty I liked the neighborhood. I had NO idea.

My neighborhood isn't quite on sara's level yet, but it's definitely feeling comfortable with friendly, familiar faces, and lots of activity. There's nothing like a good 'hood to make you feel really at home somewhere.

Infants under six months are also good for this. It's the thing I miss most about the kids being babies.

Yeah, babies have that effect too. I have a fondness for the warm lump stage, though other ones offer other delights.
Loki has been taking it easy on Mister Kitty this week (which I appreciate.) I'm sure he can smell or sense sick cat. Anyway, this blurry picture sorta sums it up: [link]

A very eventful day was had today. Sis and I went to her boss's bike race where we met up with a coworker who walked with Sis to the rest area with his Powerade and bananas. I couldn't keep up and had to turn back after only about a half mile walk (still much better than I was walking before though.
After a few hours relaxing at the house, we ran some errands which included a stop at the Fashion Outlet so she could return something at Ann Taylor. I caught some rays while she was shopping--yay!!
Then we parked at the Venetian, went to Madame Toussaud (had a blast!) Sephora (my first time there--spent too much), and then Rita Rudner (very amusing). After, it was dinner at an Irish pub near the house, where we had too much of the baked pretzels and not enough of the stew. Oh, well!

But, the booze I've had today is making me very sleepy (first liquor since surgery--half a Bellini at Mario Batali's bar, and then a few sips of Smithwick), so it's off to bed with me!!
