And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Parent types, especially Jessica, have you all read Nutureshock?

No, but it's been on my TBR list forEVER. (I'm pretty sure I took it out from the library once and then returned it unread.)

Do you read Ask Moxie? For a while she was leading discussions on it one chapter at a time.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

To be clear, I was just being facetious about "icky sex stuff." Personally, I think sex is quite cool.

I figured. (Although I am not at all into sex in public spaces [inasmuch as a kink party falls into my definition of "public space"]. AT ALL. I mean, I won't pretend that what we do isn't about sexytimes, but I'm really reserved when it comes right down to it, and there's only so much I'm comfortable doing around other people, or seeing other people doing [which -- the "seeing other people doing," and my boundaries thereto -- has caused some friction when I wasn't interested in watching other people doing stuff (seriously -- some people were all, "Why are you so unfriendly?" and all I could do was just boggle at them in response; not wanting to witness your naked sexytimes does NOT make me unfriendly; it means I like my boundaries large and clothed)].)

(I am in awe of my nested parentheticals, above.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

a pointer to the stuff that's more interesting for women would be something I could get behind

Do you think that the stuff usually featured on fleshbot is uninteresting to women and that the porn in these features is more interesting? I honestly can't tell the difference.

I get that the porn that the internet's made for is not me, but fleshbot...well, I'm not going to say that they're special or anything. Just that they're already vetting porn.

I also guess I don't know what chick porn is. I mean, what is "good" porn, but porn that women don't like?

serial:

"Why are you so unfriendly?"

Honestly, I'm continually surprised by how much a subculture can reinforce itself and change people's perceptions of normalcy. Seriously. Just because you (and others) are thinking it's hot doesn't mean it's au fait for everyone else. Even everyone else in the room.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I don't know. I haven't done that much analysis of what they have there.

I mean, what is "good" porn, but porn that women don't like?

I couldn't describe it, but I bet I could know it when I see it.

Kinky peeps (or, perhaps, the kinky peeps who go to parties) tend to be more on the side of "Woo, free love, touchy-feely is AWESOME!!!!" So when someone is *not,* it really stands out. I certainly don't think I'm *wrong,* but it's just odd to be so out of step with everyone else.

That makes sense to me, though -- if the kink is your sex life, and the parties are about the kink..... The free love piece is separate to me than the public part. In my head.

brillig

The porn I like is stuff where the people involved are paying attention to each other, not making eyes at the camera. Also, they should be at least appearing to enjoy the event, not apparently working off some check list or someone to the side saying "OK, switch places. You, on the bottom, roll over."

On the whole, I prefer gay (ie, man on man) porn, because I find men prettier to look at. I am such a Kinsey 0.

Oh, and I like the men to be in the late-20s as a general minimum. Twinks are generally dull.
