We're still working on a plan, but so far it involves being sent to prison and becoming somebody's bitch.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I wondered why the husband could just make his wife move to the country by saying, "You are my wife."

Heh, I did that to Tom.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

For a while there I was considering personal protection for one of those too rich families. Talk about a job the headaches would have scuppered.

So, gender is independent of genitalia. You're a straight man if you're attracted to women, and women doesn't imply vaginas. What are you if you're attracted to people with vaginas? Is there a word for that? Gynophile?

I am having a great time searching shibari. God, there's some stunning work out there.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

The other ridiculously rich family I knew was tech-money rich. Venture capitalist, owned four houses (and a vineyard) in Northern California, was the angel donor at our school. One year he provided bonuses to whole staff. Those of us who were there for 2 years got $10,000 and those of us who were there a year got $5,000. It was the first last and only time I received a bonus as a teacher.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Sarameg that is scary.

I have nothing to contribute on the "Rich People" thread. Rich people I have known have been bosses and casual acquaintances rather than friends. For what it is worth they have spanned a broad range of human behavior ranging from "psychotic asshole" to "really nice person".

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That reminds me, I am so with flea on how I would not work out if I had tons of money. I would hire someone to work out for me.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

sarameg,

I have been following that story from afar. I'm sorry the abduction happened so close to you. Does it sound like it was an acquaintance of her half-sister? That household just wasn't right for a 17-year-old.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I would work out. If I was rich, I would want to live FOREVERRRRR

My gym is begging me to come back. They're waiving initiation fee and two month's membership. I want to cry.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, yeah, I also dated a rich boy. He was all "blah blah and my father's yacht" and I was all ??? He failed to sweep me off to Europe or anything, and it was long distance, so it wasn't like I was getting taken out to big dinners. It was kinda an underwhelming experience, really. Also, he was misogynist. But misogynist in a weird way, like, he liked getting called on it. Yeah, I dunno.
