It's all about choices, Faith. The ones we make, and the ones we don't. Oh, and the consequences. Those are always fun.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

If I were that rich, I suspect there would be a way to live forever, like getting your head implanted on a robot body.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I imagine some fannish buffistas enjoyed the tribute to fanvids on Community tonight.

I am having a great time searching shibari. God, there's some stunning work out there.

There really is. And I? Am almost always too impatient to sit still to be tied like that. It doesn't take an inordinately long amount of time, but I have the patience of an over-caffeinated meth-head. I always think, "Can't we achieve the same goal in 30 seconds with some damn cuffs?"

I am a philistine.

I tell you what, though --hemp rope smells SO good. Like a meadow and warm clean hay, or something.

Also -- Tim and I are both ashamed to admit defeat. We both swear we saw a Web site once upon a time that had illustrations -- drawings, not photos. But neither of us can find it. I was sure he had it bookmarked, but no such luck. Sorry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That was a tribute to the TRUTH, bon.

Steph, I'm having a fun time just branching out. I wouldn't have gotten to the word shibari without you, so you have set me on the good road.

Unfortunately, I do not want to see any more tied up women. Oh, oops. I think I have some issues there. But I found a nice tie on a Russian site that I'm co opting for a picture now.

serial: What's the line between bondage and domination? I mean, a lot of the shibari sites I see talk about master and slave and my eyes glaze over, but the tied up part is fascinating to look at.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I don't think I have ever know anyone really, really rich.

Rich to me is if you drive a Mercedes and own a pair of Jimmy Choo's. My rich-o-meter is set kinda low, methinks.

I fantasize about winning the lottery. I'm not greedy: 5 million would be crazy-rich to me. I would pay off the house and student loans for me, my sis and Dan, set up a college fund for M. and buy a home in the Ozarks and hire my awesome friends to run it for me.

And do some traveling. I think I would still set up a freelance writing and editing business, though. But I would take 6 months to a year off to renovate the house and travel. And read ALL THE BOOKS. And drink ALL THE WINE.

I would treat Buffistas during my travels to some awesome dinners out, though! FUN! And during my last lottery fantasy, I would set up a microloan program for Buffistas and close friends and family. Nothing big, just....car repairs and meds and taxes and weird shit I always wish I could shoot money at.

Sometimes the line is fuzzy; tying someone up can obviously be laden with power inequality. But sometimes, the person being tied just likes the sensation of being tied, feels secure when restrained, but is has nothing to do with giving up power (although, again, on the face of it, it seems that being restrained = giving up power).

Yeah, mine too. The people I've actually known who I thought were rich were just people who went to private school and summered on the Vinyard. Which is wealthy, but not super-rich, I suspect. I mean, they still needed to work.

I like the idea of the Buffista microloan system, though!

... you know, that's actually something we could probably do. Isn't there some website that will manage those for you?

I think some of the shibari just looks very cozy. I don't need to be giving up not power to nobody, though, thanks.

Steph, my first shot at drawing it is here, if you're interested. Borderline SFW. Well, you know, guy tied up.

ita, that's quite nice! I particularly like the "weaving" detail between the 2 over-the-shoulder ropes (I don't know what to call it other than weaving; it's really just an artistic way to use up long rope). May I show Tim?
