Vacation payouts depend on state law, I'm pretty sure. In California you've got to pay it out, but I'm pretty sure that's because the legislature made it so.
Yes, this is why the policy handbook of my company has to follow each of its sucky policies with, "In California, our policy is as follows..."

Thank you Harry Bridges and the General Strike of 1934.
My favorite is that, when I leave (hopefully soon), they have to pay me for all unused vacation
plus
the pro-rated amount of vacation I've already "earned" for next year (since my company grants all vacation on January 1st).
It's also nice when you get paid out at a higher salary for vacation hours you accrued at a lower salary.
Wow, that's shitty, smonster. Now I'm looking at our policy and it says "an employee who terminates employment will be paid for accrued vacation time," which makes me wonder what about if the company terminates the employee.
So, anyone doing anything special on May 21st? That's the end of the world, in case you forgot. Also, it's on a Saturday.
Well, crap. Totally forgot about that. Why am I job hunting? I think I will now stop that silly business.
Hey, Steph, when you come by, do you know of any good visual resources for ropework? I'm not looking to tie, I'm looking to draw.
I can give you better links once I'm home, but off the top of my head, if you google Two Knotty Boys, they have an extensive site with lots of ties. I don't know if their ties are fancy shibari (Eastern ropework; google "shibari chest harness" for one example) or Western ropework (less visually artistic, more tie-the-damsel-to-the-railroad-tracks, which has a certain appeal), or both.
I definitely have links bookmarked at home, so I'll peruse later and throw some your way.
t edit
What are you looking for? Fancy, utilitarian, both?
(shaking my head)
I'm sorry smonster. This is not right or fair. You'd think they'd at least give you partial payment. Shitty.
Did y'all see that VegNews put out an apology and said they'll only use custom vegan photographs from now on? Huh.
I don't know enough to even answer your question, Steph. I did see a fairly intricate arms-tied-together-behind-the-back picture that I've now lost, but I'd have no idea if it qualifies as shibari or not.
Also, pictures of men tied up would be *highly* appreciated.
Fuck, I have so much to do today, and so little energy with which to do it. My head hurts so badly. No meds, playing the weekly chase. Last week I had to get a neurologist I didn't even know to refill them. The process is too broken to be called a process.
