Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

That's awesome!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

ha! I love all the Undead complaining about their bits falling off.

I would have thought this was awesome if it had happened at my school

Hey, my daughter's class got to meet that baby T-rex last year on a school field trip. I thought it was great! There was significantly less screaming when we saw him, probably because there was a museum docent right there to introduce him to the kids. Cutest moment of the visit: When the T-rex noticed the full grown T-rex skeleton behind him and started cooing at it.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

VegNews put out a statement that's basically a few paragraphs talking about how great they are and how difficult it is to keep a magazine running, and then a paragraph that starts with, "Yes, from time to time, after exhausting all options, we have resorted to using stock photography that may or may not be vegan."

I just flipped through the latest issue. As far as I can tell, there are just four photos there that aren't stock photos -- one of them is a photo of Mayim Bialik with an article she wrote about raising vegan kids, where the photographer is credited, one is a photo with a recipe where I can't imagine being able to find that photo as a stock photo, and the other two are photos of workers that they interviewed for an article about the dangers faced by slaughterhouse workers.

Aw, that is a cool moment!

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I have run out of Batman/Superman slash fic to read, which is amazing considering that a week ago I had zero interest in any such thing

I hate that, when I find a new fic genre, and I read it all obsessively for a while and then I am adrift.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Hivemind! I roasted a chicken last night, but apparently not long enough. It's been refrigerated overnight - can I fire up the oven again and finish it? Or would that be dangerous? It is a free range chicken, I believe.

hip deep in pie

Smonster, I don't know if you should do that, but I would probably do what you suggest.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

My onerous task was finishing grading and submitting grades. Also, onerous? Wearing a corset and heels all day (in honor of retro day for spirit week -- they never said HOW retro).

My feet hurt.

That leads to pairing creep for me -- you start with S/B, and that leads to Batman/other people, or, hey, I wonder what Robin is up to?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Whew, tax return filed, possibly even accurately. I owe federal a little, biggish refund from state. Payment set up for Monday.

smonster, if you get the chicken's internal temperature up where it's supposed to be to be safe (165? 180? I don't know) I don't think it will matter that it was previously partially cooked. That may dry it out - maybe put it in a covered dish.
