Kaylee: So how many fell madly in love with you and wanted to take you away from all this? Inara: Just the one. I think I'm slipping.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

ION : rage warning

As in all things, it's complicated. Yes, if the reports are accurate, it's incredibly disappointing to hear that the police message is "ladies, cover up."

OTOH, at least the police are patrolling all of the neighborhoods where this is happening - Safe Slope so far seems to be interested in protecting only the richest/whitest blocks. So I'm not a huge fan of them either right now.

[eta: Brooklyn Bike patrol has been completely awesome and is now offering escorts from just about every subway station where an attack has been reported.]

Calling Billytea:

Have you ever heard of the frilled shark? Wacky photos, man!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I had not! I'd heard of the other sharks in the article, though. The goblin shark footage is excellent.

I can't see the video, but just the still shot of the frilled shark was awesome.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Note to self: cities are good places to avoid sharks AND bears.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I thought quoting the Simpsons was as good as an emoticon, if not better, to indicate I was joshing, but I guess I was unclear. Sorry, Burrell.

Apparently this is going to be one of those headaches that makes me cry. I don't know if I'm going to get anything accomplished today. I might have to call in sick for the whole day, not just until 11, like I'd initially planned.

And, fuck, is that me running out of meds?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I totally missed the Simpsons reference, but I'm glad that you were not serious. We're good.

I think a headache that makes you cry is a legitimate reason to call in sick.

Just got a text from the babysitter that Aeryn took 2 steps.

1 - Girl, those milestones are for Mommy, not Nessa!

2 - YOU ARE NOT EVEN NINE MONTHS OLD HOLY CRAP.

Does anyone have a stasis pod I can borrow? My daughter is growing up too fast.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

WHAT? That can't even be right. Your daughter is walking!

Art Crawl!!!

Uh oh. Aeryn is getting ready to take over the world.

Now, did the babysitter NOT use her phone to videotape? And if not -- why not???

Prehistoric Sharks: that 3rd one was totally MegaShark.
