DH's great-grandmother used to keep chickens. He had his own tiny metal pail which he used when he helped her collect eggs from the coop. One day, when he was about 3, a hen pecked him. They ate chicken for dinner that night.

Urban chicken aren't legal in my hood; I keep teasing Dan that I want urban chickens, but I really don't (Corgi, remember?) but I just LOVE the phrase "urban chicken."
