Why do so many pumpkin bread recipes call for some odd fraction of a can of pumpkin?

Because books.

Oh my god, Ginger, that drives me nuts. Use the whole thing! Or half!

I just caught the reair of Free Agents on Bravo, and good god, it's pretty bad. But ASH ... he looks OLD. Gorgeous and hot but much older than I expected. I'm shaken.

Oh, my god, I can't get any projects done because people keep loading up the siege engine with fireballs and aiming them at my desk.

Is your shield faulty? Try releasing the hounds with bees in their mouths.

Ginger I have a great recipe for pumpkin muffins that could easily be made as bread and it uses 1 can. Remind me to post. ACtually it is on Allrecipes.com and I think it is called Pumpkin Muffins II. It may call for using a fresh pumpkin, but a1 reg can does good.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I still have frozen pumpkin from last year in my freezer. I should really try to use that up.

Called Mom. Dad said Joe could stay with them. Beautiful. Mom said she wouldn't call me anymore because she can't stand to hear me upset. No, Mom, I can't stand thinking that you guys are going to get hurt trying to fulfill your parental duty. Nothing is going to change with this situation until someone gets injured. Gah.

I'm going to derby practice later and hit something.

I see those, msbelle. Thanks. I think I'll use about those proportions, although maybe not that much sugar. I was going to use the whole can and wing it, but there was a lot of math involved.

Our wings are not tired.

Cashmere, your situation reminds me of children of elderly who ruin their own personal health trying to take care of a parent or two with huge medical/aging issues instead of placement into an assisted living center or Skilled Nursing Center. There can be a "we can't turn this over to managed care because it means we're crappy kids who don't care about our parent" mentality that is so much more harmful than helpful. And of course add in the unpredictable nature of schizophrenia and it's exponently complicated. Do your parents feel like they can't lay the "burden" of their son's care on someone else? Do they feel guilty?

The whole situation is so, so shitty and I am sorry for everyone involved.

Because books.

Cash, I'm so sorry. I know how hard it is for you, and I know they must think they're doing the right thing. I watched this happen with my BiL, too, and it's not at all easy.

Hit everything you can, hard. (But don't hurt yourself.)

Ginger I use half the sugar and I also use half WW flour.
