Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

Our wings are not tired.

Cashmere, your situation reminds me of children of elderly who ruin their own personal health trying to take care of a parent or two with huge medical/aging issues instead of placement into an assisted living center or Skilled Nursing Center. There can be a "we can't turn this over to managed care because it means we're crappy kids who don't care about our parent" mentality that is so much more harmful than helpful. And of course add in the unpredictable nature of schizophrenia and it's exponently complicated. Do your parents feel like they can't lay the "burden" of their son's care on someone else? Do they feel guilty?

The whole situation is so, so shitty and I am sorry for everyone involved.

Because books.

Cash, I'm so sorry. I know how hard it is for you, and I know they must think they're doing the right thing. I watched this happen with my BiL, too, and it's not at all easy.

Hit everything you can, hard. (But don't hurt yourself.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Cash, I'm so sorry. Safety Net, my pink ass. I'm wishing everyone safety and stability until they can get your bro back on meds and stabilized: mean time, go hit something.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, can I just say? This is why coworkers like me: I'm waiting on some stuff that has been promised to me before the end of the day. I.e., a half hour from now. Coworker calls me frantic, says she's working on it, probably needs 10 minutes. I say, OK, thanks! She was like, "....that was a much easier conversation than I was expecting." Hee. I'm like, dude! Stop talking, keep typing! No worries!

Cash, I have no words, but my thoughts are with you and your family. Do they have any support system nearby that you could call on to check on them?

Jesse, my favorite variant of that is having a PM call me fussing about having to fill in something I sent when it would take less time to just fill in the information. Grrrr, quit fussing and trying to throw your muscle around. I'm trying to make your job easier, dude.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Cash, I'm so damned sorry you have to go through this. I wish there was something I could do to help.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just had a PM set up a meeting with me to introduce me to the BA on the project.

Uh, I am the BA on the project. I checked with my boss. I'm still the BA on the project. Oh, the one that's going to write the requirements document. This requirements document? Yeah, he'll write that one. But...I already wrote it.

Fuck that noise. I actually put my head down on my desk during a conference call and I'm home now and my head is killing me.

Oh yeah. This is why I'm terrible at delegating pieces of things.
