Xander: Am I right, Giles? Giles: I'm almost certain you're not. Though, to be fair, I haven't been listening.

The next Republican debate would be just like Thunderdome! Two fungus-puppets enter! One fungus-puppet leaves!

Does one have to leave? Can they both not get out?

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

wait ... haven't they ALL been sprayed with a mind-controlling parasitic fungus? it would explain so much.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm pretty sure that if a mind-controlling fungus got ahold of Michele Bachman, it would starve to death.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I'm pretty sure that if a mind-controlling fungus got ahold of Michele Bachman, it would starve to death.

You mean she isn't already a mind-controlling fungus?

In other news, several major roads in our area were closed last night because of the floods. Major like U.S. 50 and U.S. 29. The weather radio was blaring all night with flood warnings in the DC area. (BTW, the Federal government today is on Unscheduled Leave. I'm at work, but a lot of people aren't.)

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

The crest level has been revised down to 26.5 feet. Water will still be in the main part of the restaurant but hopefully it won't be enough to reach the really expensive industrial kitchen equipment.

Fingers are crossed to the point of breakage.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm thinking of stopping by the pharmacy and buying a sling on the way into work. That thing (or, you know, regular insomnia) kept me up way too long. I'm incredibly grumpy and don't want to go in.

So far we've had an earthquake, hurricane, and floods ... I think the only consolation is that it's too wet for a major fire.

Oh, but the Great Dismal Swamp fire was a couple weeks ago. Probably out now.
