Fresh roasted Hatch chiles are like delicious, spicy crack candy.
Right? So very nom.
I think I'm getting the philosophical intent behind the polished sink thing down. I've been tidying up the kitchen every night before I go to bed. I used to do it right when we moved in because I loved the house so much, but I've gotten downright slovenly since. I've been tying it into boiling the kettle for my evening cuppa, and that works nicely. It's like a mini-timer clean. I just tidy up whatever's lying around for the amount of time it takes the water to boil. If I have a little extra in the kettle and it takes longer, then I empty and refill the ice trays or something. So far so good. We'll see if I can keep it up once we're in the throes of school.
Bedroom status: washed & line-dried the linens (they smell so amazing now), flipped and quarter rotated the mattress (it's a king, so basically square), pulled everything out of the closet and made judgement calls, sorting into use, keep for memorabilia sake but in a different area, give away, throw away. Still need to do a load of regular laundry and put everything away, but I already feel better about it.
Tomorrow will be a busy day.
I feel kind of bad saying this on the heels of a hurricane but northern lower Michigan was beautiful this weekend.
Even for the Hunger Games footage they're supposedly showing, because that's what the internet is for.
It's linked in Movies! It's great!

I really think the fact that I want a Hatch chile for a midnight snack might be weird. But they are so delicious.
Tongue on fire. Note to self: when it gets hot, stop eating the roasted chiles plain for a minute.
Tasty.

It often is. I forget--were you there for a visit or is that home (if you're comfortable saying)? I'm from Alpena, although I haven't lived there since I was 15.

Heh - I just started FlyLady too, and I totally know what you mean! Except my kitchen sink is a turqoise-ish ceramic that really doesn't "shine" no matter how well I clean it.
I don't want to go to work yet.
I heard a door slam at 5:30 this morning and I was instantly wide awake. I came out to the living room to find CJ lounging listening to music. He swears he didn't shut a door anywhere.
At that point there was no way I'd be able to get any more rest, so I started work early. I have to leave in about an hour for a doctor's appt anyway, so it actually works out well. Still, too darned early.
Oh, and my voice is kinda gone from yelling during the rodeo last night.
My company's offices, in New Jersey, are closed today because the streets are impassable.
Therefore I should go back to bed, right? Interrupted sleep isn't much better than no sleep, and now I am groggy and cranky.
Oh well. I probably couldn't sleep now anyway, I've already had the morning caffeine.
