Can't any one of your damn little Scooby club at least try to remember that I hate you all?

Associate Director, University 250th Anniversary

This is a bit awkward, but hardly worth going on about. You could say something like Associate Director, 250th Anniversary Celebration (or Observance or Events) for the dimmer bulbs in HR departments.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

All,

I don't mean to make light of the government shutdown, but I do have a question. If the government shuts down for 1-2 weeks, what happens to tax collection?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

You still have to submit your federal taxes or a request for an extension by April 18th. Otherwise you will be charged penalties for filing late.

Those that have submitted paper returns, OTOH? Good luck in getting your refund if there's a shutdown.

Compassionately intolerant

Oh lord, my official title at the software company I worked for was "Special Projects Juggler." I still have the business cards. Wonder what Cranky McHRGuy would make of that.

How incredibly unhelpful. Joke him.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Well lucky me, owin' them money!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Whoa, bizarro weather. There's been thunder all afternoon, which is unusual for here, then it suddenly started hailing, or seemed to, but when I ran out to move my plants under cover I realized what I thought was hail was accumulating like snow, and even soft. I think it's just rain, now.

Eta: no, that's definitely hail. It makes me feel better knowing there's a severe weather advisory, except for the possibility of funnel clouds part. Do not like.

Yeah, wacky weather. It's supposed to get down to 40 again tonight. Brrr.

Those bon bons won't eat themselves. Unless they were cannibal bon bons, which I hear are quite ferocious

The end result of cannibal bon bons? ONE GIANT BON BON. (But not one giant bon bon, if you know what I mean.)
