That's one spunky little girl you've raised. I'm gonna eat her.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

@fivethirtyeight tweeted that the earthquake was really shallow--6km underground--and that's why it traveled as far as it did. No idea if that's how it works, but that's what Nate Silver's saying, anyway.

I think it was deep, so it went further? Is that how it works?

Well, one of you is right.

Also, I love social media. We were like, in the office, WTF? And then Facebook blew up.

Yeah, my Feed exploded.

information libertarian

Certainly it must have to do with depth. I think Nate Silver is more likely to be right than me, frankly.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Any northern Va-istas on the board? I am sure she's fine, but my mom's phone is down so I can't reach her. Is the phone outage wide, or is it just Reston?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm sure it's just that the phone lines are overloaded.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

We had it here in Western NY, too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have never left a building because of a quake. Am I stupid?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It sounds like people east of Atlanta felt it more than here, but some people in Atlanta in taller buildings are reporting they felt it. I didn't, and I assume Mr Peabody would have barked.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oops. Missed a decimal point. The USGS is saying the quake was 0.6 km deep (less than a mile): [link]

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I have never left a building because of a quake. Am I stupid?

I'm guessing LA buildings are slightly more earhtquake-proof than East Coast ones. (I also don't know if leaving the building is the smart thing to do vs staying put, but I can understand the impulse.)
