I have such mixed feelings about this story.
I think I like the concept, but the packaging is squicky.
Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

I think I understand your squick, Jessica, but the people on loan breaks it down into library language easier than "Consult an Expert" or similar.
I see potential for awfulness, but also for awesomeness. I'd like to see the guidelines for being and for consulting a volunteer.

Why is my thumb suddenly swollen? I haven't jammed it or strained it in the last ten minutes, but the base of the joint is rapidly swelling and becoming tender. The fuck? It's the same side as the IV, but the IV was in the forearm.

My brothers are having a party tonight, it has absolutely nothing to do with me, and yet I basically want to throttle all their friends. They sent out the invitations three weeks ago, and this past week have texted all of them every day asking "will you be on time?" and "are you eating dinner here?". Not only did the vast majority not respond, they are all pretending not to know what time it starts, only 2 people are bothering to show up for dinner even though before they all said they were so we bought tons of food, and NOW one of of them is having the audacity to say "can you buy some sprite, orange juice, and cranberry juice?". Honestly! We bought four 12-packs of soda yesterday, and so we told them if they wanted anything additional they can bring it themselves, and now they're upset.
I so wish I had an elsewhere to be this evening. I get the distinct feeling this party is going to be an absolute train wreck.
