Ann, that's a ferret.

My agency is non-appropriated. Which means I have to work even if there's a shut down. On the other hand, knowing the pay check will still be coming in -- is a good thing.

Hubs's status isn't clear yet.

instead of being furloughed, I'll be on (unpaid) jury duty. Can't win for losing.

Well, that bites. Would you get paid later?

I still don't know what's going to happen, but I suspect I'll be furloughed because the government won't be able to incur costs to my employer while it's shut down. (And I'm not involved in any sensitive or life-saving programs.)

Maybe I'll go skiing...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Finally, caffeine? I know excedrin has it, but not as much as a cup of coffee.

I'm scared of more caffeine, because I'm pretty sure it's not a migraine, and without a migraine, caffeine keeps me up like crazy.

I will try accupressure! And currently have a cold damp cloth on my head.

Thanks, y'all.

Punishingly Intricate

I wonder what will happen with CMS? I know we'll keep on keeping on doing work for them, for sure.

We've got padding built into our budget, and are non-direct so... apparently, we can go for a couple months. Uhg, anyway.

OK, time to lock up the computer. Next time, I'll have children in my care...

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

My cousin's going to be furloughed. She apparently found out today.

I just got an email from my employer, basically saying we're out of work if the shutdown happens. No surprise there.

Between the government shutdown and all the acquisitions lately. A lot of people are going to be out of work. Just when the economy was starting to pick up.

I wonder if that was part of the plan?
