Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Today is my first 5-4-9 every-other-Friday off and I'm so ridiculously overscheduled today! Already ran four miles, went down to Industry to pick up a dining table and come back (had to drive with the seat pushed all the way up and the trunk tied down, which was terrifying), then to Ikea for a bookshelf and back, and have to clean the house and put together the furniture before my BiL and his GF come over for dinner.

giraffe mode

bon, my husband has had that schedule for about 3 years, and at first he did the same thing, like it was gonna be his only day off, but he really likes it. The thing he didn't think about is that his work Fridays seem so short now. In short, yay every other Friday off! He loves being able to schedule stuff on Fridays too, it's really handy.

Congrats, smonster!

Keep those peepers open, ita !.

Beets are done. Ate one and NOM! The rest are in the fridge with my other creations. I also have a few stalks of rhubarb. Not sure what to do with them yet.

Suzi, how did you cook your beets? My dad's a big fan of them, and I'm always looking for new recipes for him.

Trust my rage

not Suzi, but I roasted mine in the over last night. I put them in a pan with about 1/4 inch of water. The recipe said to leave the tops on about inch. I didn't but I wish I had because they would have been much easier to peel. Anyway, they sort of tasted like a beet version of baked potatoes. They were really good!

Compassionately intolerant

The csa just delivered more tomatillos...yay...but there is also an eggplant in there. Blergh. I can't think of a thing I can do with it that would make it palatable to me.

There is also okra. Um. No. That'll be going to friends, for sure.
