Got some of my errands done- got the car washed, picked up my dad's birthday present(his birthday is in early July) and picked up my comic books. Was unable to find a top to go with my new skirt, and couldn't find toe separators(for polish) that weren't part of a pedicure set. I'll figure something out from my wardrobe for the former, and just be careful when polishing my toenails.
Oh, and we're planning to see Thor tonight.
I offer without comment: Cthulhu slippers.
Oh my god, I have my brother's birthday present. THANK YOU!

Great, now I want roasted asparagus and unagi but I have already had lunch and it was neither.
I need to buy a blender. Does anyone have a blender to evangelize?
I've always like Osterizer, but I don't know any recent models. You looking for a stick or a standup? I think I've had good Braun? standups.
Standup. For smoothies and puréeing.
If you're going to be cracking ice for smoothies, you want a pretty high-end blender - the difference is in the motor rating. Ice will burn out a cheap blender fast. We have a metal Waring. It was pricey, but over time less pricey than mr. flea taking the kids to Smoothie King once a week at $15 a pop.
Randomly: the iPhone game Helsing's Fire isn't extraordinarily complicated (in fact, it's kind of repetitive and in the end it's actually just math -- vectors and shit), but it is fucking hilarious because of the commentary provided by Helsing, his assistant Raffton, and Dracula. It's basically Wondermark in game form.
I saw Anna Deveare Smith play 28 different characters last night, including Lance Armstrong and a former heavyweight champion of the world. It was really cool.
I adore her! I was lucky enough to work with her twice when I lived in San Fran. She's a very cool lady!
I have a Breville that I've been very happy with, 3 speeds and one of them is specifically for crushing ice. I've had it for 6 years with no issues, but not heavy use (I don't make smoothies every day or anything, but I have burnt out blender motors on occasion in the past).
Eta: upon googling, it looks like they have thoroughly changed their design, so I don't know what the new ones are like, but probably sturdy, at least.
