It's called a blaster, Will, a word that tends to discourage experimentation. Now, if it were called the Orgasmater, I'd be the first to try your basic button press approach.

information libertarian

If you're going to be cracking ice for smoothies, you want a pretty high-end blender - the difference is in the motor rating. Ice will burn out a cheap blender fast. We have a metal Waring. It was pricey, but over time less pricey than mr. flea taking the kids to Smoothie King once a week at $15 a pop.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Randomly: the iPhone game Helsing's Fire isn't extraordinarily complicated (in fact, it's kind of repetitive and in the end it's actually just math -- vectors and shit), but it is fucking hilarious because of the commentary provided by Helsing, his assistant Raffton, and Dracula. It's basically Wondermark in game form.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I saw Anna Deveare Smith play 28 different characters last night, including Lance Armstrong and a former heavyweight champion of the world. It was really cool.

I adore her! I was lucky enough to work with her twice when I lived in San Fran. She's a very cool lady!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have a Breville that I've been very happy with, 3 speeds and one of them is specifically for crushing ice. I've had it for 6 years with no issues, but not heavy use (I don't make smoothies every day or anything, but I have burnt out blender motors on occasion in the past).

Eta: upon googling, it looks like they have thoroughly changed their design, so I don't know what the new ones are like, but probably sturdy, at least.

hip deep in pie

I have a cheap Hamilton Beach that has done me good smoothie making for years. But I don't add ice, just frozen fruit.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You guys and especially msbelle should be very proud of me--I made it out of the Nordstrom's shoe sale without buying anything even though I found a pair of really cute Munro sandals at almost 60% off.

Punishingly Intricate

Nice work, Perkins!

I, on the other hand, had a little bit of a shoe shopping spree this morning and got hiking boots:

and kind of ridic expensive flipflops (justification: they are crazy comfortable and environmentally upstanding and etc.)

Anyway, I also got new lenses for my glasses. Progressives. They are okay, I think? I haven't really figured out reading on the computer with them yet.

Earlier I saw sarameg at the market! And got my CSA share (good but not nearly as robust at shrift's) and a bunch of other things including what is probably the last of the spring peas and strawberries! yum

Cute boots!

I wish I could CSA.
