I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm up, showered and dressed, and have a load of laundry going. Around 11 I'll be making a grocery run with bonus amyth, and the later this afternoon I have a flying lesson, unless thunderstorms hose it. Tomorrow I'll be seeing X-Men again with a friend.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I saw Anna Deveare Smith play 28 different characters last night, including Lance Armstrong and a former heavyweight champion of the world. It was really cool.

My life is otherwise quite boring. And yet busy! Argh.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Boo! I had two possible people to see X-Men with today, and they are both bailing, I think. Ah well. I do love going to the movies by myself.

Marketed and got quite the haul: basil, last peas of the season (boo!), ranier cherries, strawberries, spinach, empanadas. Forgot to look for red onions and tomatoes. But bonus getting to see lisah! Then to TJs and Target.

eta: oh! and I sold a bag of dog biscuits! That brings my sales up to 4! (Erik usually asks one of us to man the table so he can take a bathroom break.)

Still need to go out and get a red onion and dressing and tonic, but that will be later. Let the dogs out for my neighbor. Puppy was so excited it was hard to get him to focus and just pee already.

Going to go swim, then clean, then go get the last of the stuff so I can make my pea salad: peas, roasted corn, red onion, cherry tomatoes in some sort of italian dressing. Maybe feta. I want it to be peasy, and feta might overwhelm that.

May have to go get new sheets, as Loki finally put a huge rip down by my feet as I was TRYING to stay asleep until 7 after waking at 5. Not sure if I have another queen bottom sheet or not.

Man, I don't know if we even have peas yet. I swung by the farmers' market last night and it looked like all lettuce (and pea shoots, etc.) and a few strawberries.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I haven't been swimming yet this summer, much to my dismay, but when I do I do all backstroke because I am a wuss and don't know how to breathe. But I do weave like a mofo. (Do motherfuckers weave a lot in their swim lanes?) I weave like a Navajo grandmother. So I really can't share lanes, and basically wimp out whenever I would have to. I need to take lessons, but my pool, although they claim to have adult lessons "sometimes," have never yet done so since I started going. I assumed I'd be at the lake by now and able to swim every day, but no, I'm at the folks' place. There is a pool at the short-term apartments next door, and they did at one point tell my folks they could use it, but they never have, and I'm too skurred to ask.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Poor Oedipus. He should have considered his competitive swimming career before blinding himself.

Also, could this be an effective putdown?
